So, wild idea here...
using ANY element that is not of the DAYS element will trigger meteor.
go.
Something I have also been considering, maybe its not specifically trying to physically avoid/survive a meteor move, but all out preventing it (not as in locking)
What would you guys say is the possibility that Meteor is not just random but appears to be via being triggered by a common move, hate changing, some spell being cast, a JA type, something along those lines?
Assuming that isn't another troll post, false. AV meteored when zerged when it obviously wasn't being cast on.
We have tried holding AV for 30 minutes with 0 JA's and nothing except flash and cures.

had no noticeable change.
and the thread goes to shit again
Original post being updated. I have purple marks by areas that I feel could use more information (or clarification). Any comments, suggestions, or corrections welcomed and encouraged.
I'm a personal believer that you can't lock Meteor and people should focus on ways to just survive it, so I focus less on lock theories outside those that are confirmed (regen/2hr locks). The only theory that I specifically mention is the 15/15 2HR lock (which has been tested to do nothing, definitely not meteor).
One of the things I would like is to know the base damages of AV's spells (most importantly meteor). I need screenshots of people taking damage from the spell, how many targets are hit (10+ usually), whether it has bracers, whether it is under manafont, and your gear. With this I can back-calculate the base damage.
Same thing then but on lightsday?
I'm not sure that SE would be that huge of a dick though to make meteor counter wrong element spells, and even then if every time the paladin dropped a flash AV countered with meteor, I'm pretty sure they would have noticed the pattern after 30 mins of it.
I thought someone did this? I recall seeing it at least once somewhere in this discussion. I remember someone obtaining the numbers when someone tried to say "throw more people to absorb/split the spell" and it worked out to still be a significant amount of dmg even once it reaches AOE cap. Obviously more than one test would be better, but its a good starting point. One of the things I would like is to know the base damages of AV's spells (most importantly meteor). Has anyone actually noticed unusual differences in damage on meteor aside from typical resists? Are we implying that there AV's meteor gets stronger (or can be made weaker)? <insert silly theory that 2hr locking increases meteor dmg>
You can't just throw more players to absorb the spell since it caps at 10 players. I don't think we ever formally back-calculated how much the base damage on those meteors were though.
Also made some minor corrections (like shadowbind working). On the fight where original discovery of the WoJ was made, the actual strategy going into the fight was about Shadowbind timed nukes. They got it to about 86% this way. That's the only instance of Shadowbind playing a key role in a strategy I've heard of, especially since draw in was introduced.
I'm aware of the cap also, I was actually throwing the story out there to see if it would kickstart someone else's recollection. Anyways I'll dig thru the posts and see if I can find it, I was certain it was something like - everyone would still take 2k~ish dmg even at cap. In the post, an individual was able to calculate the approximate base damage but I cannot remember what it was.You can't just throw more players to absorb the spell since it caps at 10 players. Yeah that was considered as well, SS, shell V, mdt gear, etc. Conclusion was that well-timed PLDs and RDM's would survive, but everyone else would still die. I believe...Thanks, I'll try to dig through some old screenshots myself too. The biggest problem is knowing what kind of gear players have on to calculate MDT/MDB
I also recall some discussion as to which avatars resist meteor right? It's buried somewhere deep in this thread but I think Diabolos and Fenrir were both checked - I just can't remember the results =/
