Even if they, or anyone figured it out (the proper way), we wouldn't be told here. This thread would be filled with 90 more pages of bullshit theories, or until the loot becomes obsolete. People know how to down it, they're just keeping it hush monopolizing the gains.
Sad thing is, they are entirely within their rights, the FFXI community hardly works together when items of this value are on the table.

Holy shit, there isn't some huge secret or conspiracy here, but I'm not gonna go type up every little minute detail as to how we did the fight. Here's a hint: we optimized our damage output. Feel free to read the rest of advanced and media to figure out what that means. (And PD is obvious, right?)

Instead of buffing AV again to prevent people from killing it with this method, I'd rather SE get it through their collective skulls that the groups capable of this have essentially said "fuck your method, we'll bash through it any way WE figure out"....and just say the way they intended it. Just because I'd love to hear the full-blown wackaloon way they intended to survive Meteor before PD was added. And honestly? To congratulate the guy who came up with the rules of AV that screwed with such a large playerbase for this long.

it just went down again, seemed like one shell wanted to try a hand at it and maybe set it up with volume? idk not clear, but either way it went down, after the other shell ate a horrid face pwn from meteor,<i took 2529 damage while i was filming at 28.5 yalms, dumb ass me.> the first time, yesterday, it was about 1 minute i think for the fight, today was diff.
