This is the most promising AV thread in a long time. Thank you all for contributing to everyones understanding of this fight. We will never crack this fight without testing by everyone here. thank you.
For my contribution to the thread, i am focused on the prospect of enfeebling AV.
First off, AV was Slowed during a zerg. We zerged AV because we knew two things. The first was that his HP was reduced to a point where a zerg was mathematicaly viable. The second was due to fights like Bahamut V2 where we glitch an enemy with HP% triggers to his scripts by dropping his HP to the second trigger before the first trigger had a chance to finish. Both of these factors was what made zerging AV possible.
Considering that the key to zerging AV was to 'confuse' its AI by dropping his HP so fast that it could not complete a script before the second next trigger aroze... how much credance can we give to landing slow on a regular basis. The whole fight got borked up. And, i do not believe that you can pull any viable information from the zerg fights. Well, you can pull some information out of them.
1) we know that AV changed behavior/stats/ability lists with % HP.
2) we know that at a lower percentage HP, slow landed on AV.
3) we know that we did not lock AV's 2 hours when slow stuck on AV.
4) we know that we did not completely lock AV's Regen prior to the zerg.
5) we know that the Slow on AV was a MBed Slow.
unless i am wrong, and please correct me if i am missing or missinterpreting something. It looks like AV can be enfeebled during certain percentage ranges of its HP. Perhaps we are lucky enough to have 79% or bracelets mode be the lucky number/trigger that allows us to enfeeble it.
Another side to this question would be, what do we know about how MB'ed enfeebles act? Is there some enherent quality to a MBed enfeeble that would help it to stick? How does that compare to what elemental seal does to get an enfeeble to land?
I know this is complete conjecture, please dont jump on me, but i think that:
1) locking AV's two hours does just that. It locks AV's two hours and nothing more.
2) locking AV's regen does just that. It locks his regen and nothing more.
I had read your OP already but i must of mis-read it. I went back and re-read it and i understand what you mean. I still did not see any information about Meteor acting the same as a normal AOE spell and needing 10 people to absorb it, I already understood that about other magic but I was just checking to ensure that it acts the same for Meteor.
Hogie, it's plastered over nearly every page of this thread.
Ya I didn't put every single thing in the OP, I thought most people knew that Meteor acted like that.
The only mention of it is talking about absorbing the magic damage of spells (nothing directly related to meteor), or at least thats all i could find and i did read the whole thread.
Either way, thank you for the answer.
3x party PLD PLD COR BRD WHM WHM (or maybe one rdm for refresh)
2x party SAM SAM SAM SAM SAM SAM ( all /thf) or one of sam can be cor for war and drk roll
Ally: 2x tank pt 1x sam pt
1 Tank party tank AV. 2 PLD from other tank party stay in range of meteor (close to whms from 1st TANK party for example) in MDT/MDB (8 ppl in range for meteor 1 full tank party +2 pld from other). Meteor goes off kills 1st tank party but 2 PLDs from 2nd should live. rest of the 2nd TANK party goes in and 2 PLDs that was in range with MDT/MDB set starting to tank. Tank pt that died is dropping from ally and resting/unweak 3rd tank party goes to ally and 2 PLDs going into range in full mdt/mdb. In this whole time SAM/Thfs doing gekkos SATA BUT there are going one by one ( one is going to meteor range doing gekko going back next SAM is going). Unless He will decide to do 2 x meteor in short time (like 3 min) it should work. Meteor will kill only 1 tank party and probably 1 SAM/thf. Ofc i probably forgot about something and it wont work? :D
That plan is flawless.
It's been a long time since I've seen irony confused with sarcasm.
My blatant disregard for the actual content of your post was to imply that I don't think it would work realistically. It's about as logical as bringing a large amount of WHM mules to absorb the damage and RR.
It wouldn't work because everyone would die, MDB or not.
Added note: SAM/THF is terrible really, and especially as AV's HP decreases.
I dont think that 30 ppl is some ridicolus amout for something like AV. Its nothing else like just replacing one tank pt with another but with making some hate on tanks before. 12 SAMs shouldnt be a problem also and going one by one prevent to kill more then 1 at once. SAM sata gekko should be best possible spike and dmg for tp given DD also giving a lot of hate on PLDs and close to nothing to himself.
It's overcomplicated and prone to huge user error.
As you know puppets have a built-in scanner, what is the natural spell that it will cast . Will it cast it's higher tier (blizzard 4) or will it stick to day ? Does the AI change when regen is down ? This could be intersting if you want to find a weakness to a certain element (slow landing > weakness to earth ?).
pchan strikes again.
