Who has been killing him? I don't think anyone on our server can do it
That's why they need to remove the 10 posts restriction. Limit it to 1 post per day for 5 days or something.
Just didn't feel like reading a few pages if it could be answered fairly quickly, sorry.
kill yourself
I'm planning it at 22:00 (JST), Saturday, November 14.
No, I'm not. I didn't even know him untill I came here.
Sorry for my inaccurate comments.
Yes, I meant /cheer made the readies only, not the 2hrs themselves.
I can't change AV's 60 second timer of his 2hrs.
I think /cheer simply gives the readying to the 2hrs.
Some of us were wearing the sea torques at that time,
but I don't think the torques, weapons and jobs matter on emoting.
I think I'll try this out myself tonight to see if it brings any results, it will massively increase our chances of 2 houring AV successfully. As I stated before its the one thing we are struggling to do at present.
I also have to re-itterate that the Manafonted Meteors was a consistant 800 damage for the 2 Meteors that got off and wiped the 8-9 people around AV. I'll be trying the same tactic again in hopes to receive the same results as last time, and if so, I'll post them to allow other people to try this out.
Couldn't manage to pop this tonight, due to the maintenance, will hopefully be able to give it a shot on Friday.
To clarify:
- /cheer does NOT make AV 2hr
- /cheer makes it so that every 2hr is preceded by "Absolute Virtue readies..." (in the TP move text color (default yellow)) with a small delay (a cast time, if you will) before the 2hr activation instead of it activating instantly (White text).
Question:
Is only one /cheer needed (presumably at the start) to lock him into this status for the duration, or is one /cheer needed before each 2hr?
The whole emote theory is interesting; and if you really wanted to draw conclusions out of thin air. When were the events that wanted players do /dance, /cheer, etc created? Did these get invented post-AV video release? Would it be unreasonable to assume that maybe Square Enix was being a smart ass giving away the trick to beat Absolute Virtue through added events?....... Naw. They aren't that smart. But it's food for thought until Saturday's attempt. Is anyone going to stream the AV battles? And just to add to research materials, probably the best quality AV fight videos. I was watching live the night it was fought.
060609 Awsomeland vs. Absolute Virtue Part 1
First thing to investigate is to lock manafont with readies message and see what happens to meteor. If it does nothing, lock all 2 hours this way.
Jesus, I'm late to the party.
@Gtype, you are completely retarded. As much as I can dislike waffles and cair, they are absolutely right in this case. Our MV group kept everything secret, and we had everything planned flawlessly to be successful. Waffles even thought of a way to get rid of the titles within 1 minute without anyone noticing -at all-. I think a very defining characteristic of our old group was that nobody was dumb.
As for why we didn't get more JoL pops, it's pretty simple. We had 2 sets coming over from the Bahamut server, which were never transfered when we found out about cair's and waffles' intentions (let's not get into another fight, it's getting old and we're not going to come to an agreement or a reconciliation or anything), thus delaying the whole process as intended.
So, seriously, shut the fuck up. I know this is dead by now (and it's partly my fault I guess), but don't go around discrediting the only group that could have made it work. You are a moron.
Aside from /kneel on Odin, which is the most famous example of this, you have many situations where Emotes have an effect on the outcome.
An example would be the Apkullu Assualt. Here you needed to perform certain emotes to keep the apkullu from running from you. To be fair, there are two assaults with apkullu that are like this. Another example would be the assault with the automaton. you needed to /cheer and all that jazz to get it to move along.
While i agree that this does seem silly to try on AV... we really are grasping at straws here. There isnt much of anything else to be tried from the videos. Well other than this. And furthermore, Noone really knows how to get AV to Ready manuvers instead of Using manuvers. Will it work upon repitition... who knows. Was this just a fluke, or wishfull thinking? Its possible. But, one thing is for sure, it hasnt really been tried with a test designed to have an objective and measurable conclusion. This will be somewhat simple. have a few tarus /panic or /cheer near AV and see if it has any effect on wether it will get AV to ready a manuever instead of use it.
Cant really tell till we give it a test shot.
PST, must use tarus. Not only are they in the video, but its more comical as well LOL.
Just for shits and giggles, I decided to look at the list of emotes for in-game. Removing everything that's been added after AV's release, this leaves like 40+ emotes. If emotes do somehow effect his behavior, then it's a matter of determining if any will do or if it is only specific ones that may even only correspond to a specific 2 hour of the 15 jobs that were out at the time.
If I were to eliminate some of the possible duds, it'd be these: /yes, /no, /sit, /point, /poke, /toss, /think, /nod, /welcome, /wave, /goodbye, and /farewell.
If we're to play on being virtuous, or kind, or whatever, then I'd consider the following emotes positive ones: /amazed, /grin, /joy, /praise, /blush, /psych, /bow, /kneel, /salute, /cheer, /clap, /smile, /dance, /comfort, and /surprised.
Negative emotes would be as follows: /stagger, /angry, /huh, /stare, /sulk, /disgusted, /doubt, /shocked, /doze, /sigh, /upset, /cry, /fume, /slap, and /panic.
I know some might be grasping, but that also leaves 15 in each category. If we want to continue to go batshit on speculation, someone could try to apply the negatives to the sins and jobs the AAs represent, or the virtues to the weapons, but I guess it's kinda pointless to try until we know if emotes do somehow affect the ready state.
First of all that guy presumably already tested it.. it is a matter of whether he is lying or whether it was pure coincidence and he truly believed that was what was making it do that. If it does work you would only need 1 AV to find that...
That was the first day we started to test the theory.
All I said and say include assumptions a lot, not concrete at all.
But I was happy Mojo didn't hammer me.
/cheer does NOT make AV 2hr.
The interval between 2hrs is about 60sec and /cheer is nothing to do with it.
Once you /cheer him, his next 2hr will be preceded by the yellow text
"Absolute Virtue readies XXX." That's all about the theory.
1. "Absolute Virtue readies XXX." in yellow text.
2. His casting animation and a dust cloud.
3. "Absolute Virtue uses XXX." in white text.
This order proceeds in about 3sec. Actually 1 and 2 happens at the same timing.
I think one /cheer is needed for one 2hr, and /cheers are stackable.
If you /cheer him twice right after he pops,
he will ready and use the 1st and the 2nd 2hr right on his 2hr schedule.
But I have to say my idea may be wrong and be easily changed by the next trial.
(like into 'a certain number of particular /emotes changes his AI' or something, could be even nothing.)
I have no plan to stream it but would like to post the video here.
It'll be way better than description.
The only thing that rubs me the wrong way about the /emote theory (besides the basic premise that SE would torture us in this way) is the claim that someone without hate, outside of the alliance can /emote and it will have an effect on AV. That just... doesn't compute. Did I read it wrong?
Not sure if I am following this right.. What good does knowing what 2-hour it's using 3 seconds before it does do for you? It still uses the 2-hour right? Forgive my ignorance these AV threads are so full of BS, Shit, Piss & Vinegar, and all out asshollery, that it's really hard to follow wtf is going on 90% of the time.
