Dear God.
Dear God.
I wonder if SE could get away with selling an in-game item specifically for beating AV.
If this emote stuff is true...for shame.
Or the ending of the video after they kill it, not being together as a team cheering, but a clue to the emotes you have to use on him.
This is retarded.
VS perhaps one of your mages has a /emotion motion attatched to certain spells...
Many mages have that, and it wouldnt show up in the logs :/ i dunno, well see if we can repeat this.
Apkallu dont react to motion emote afaik, just normal emote. I'm not saying it's the same, but chance is, they copy pasted the code.
All this desperate speculation... and the guy who started it all didn't even post a shred of evidence. Stop shitting your pants until something concrete is posted.
I've watched both NA and JP versions of the AV video seeing how they both have different camera angles and show the fight in a different way it seems, and I lack seeing any taru doing /cheer
/cheer the Ebon Panels?
The guy who posted it is pretty reliable. Even though he hasn't posted on BG for very long he maintains an extensive blog/wiki page that contained pretty much all the info in the OP of this thread months before this was created. I believe he's in one of those LSs that has been trying AV with consistent frequency for a long while, and he maintains that page well and everything seems well-documented and supported.
Even if it turns out to be wrong, I don't think there's anything wrong with believing it for now. If anything, they did something to trigger readying--which is progress itself--and if for some reason it happens to be something else, we'll still be closer to figuring out what that may be.
Edit: Unless you're referring more to posts like the guy who said we should have known based on AV's dialog message, in which case I agree that kind of thing I could do without, too lol
Up until I saw this post I had no doubts and /cheer theory looked very plausible to me. But as I went to rewatch the video again to pinpoint the timestamp I noticed something of interest: 2:03 - tarutaru red mage in the background indeed does an emotion that looks like /cheer but is in fact /joy, done twice back to back. Nevertheless, I really want to believe that the basis of this theory is true, and there are a few emotions that would make AV ready it's 2-hours.
ahh okay, I was looking more so around the times that he actually 2hr'd. alright... well the only way I could see it being viable is it AV were to two hour with that job shortly after the cheer, or within the next 60 seconds of the cheer, cause if that's so then you could counter that 2hr more effectively and be prepared to know whats coming next.
what I don't understand is whenever he uses chainspell I notice a lot of SV, Manafont, Benediction and Chainspell going off, I don't see them ever try and lock hundred fists or anything else like that.
Seeing AV 'ready' 2hrs is not progress AT ALL...... rofl. I have personally seen it readies a million times, you can't fucking replicate that shit because it is seemingly just a glitch and nothing you did had to do with any of it. Also it means absolutely nothing if we got it to readies 2hrs as that only helps with locking 2hrs, if anyone thinks that will affect Meteor they are out of their minds stupid because locking 2hrs is locking 2hrs sorry....... You want to see 'Absolute Virtue readies'? watch Demo video I think.. 5? First 2hr is readies Perfect Dodge, and no 2hr after that in the video is readied.
PS what's that guys's blog?
I'm not sure why you're snapping at me lol Figuring out the first step in how you're presumably "supposed" to lock 2Hs is progress even if some people have been botting it for months. I hope you can see how that information is useful both in the abstract (better understanding how the mob works) and in practice (more LSs lock AV since you don't have to bot to do it reliably, more fights progress further, more chance of someone figuring out either how to weaken meteor or coming up with a strategy to survive it). This is without even considering the possibility that it could affect meteor--that would be nice if it did but I personally don't imagine it will, or that it needs to for the information itself to be valuable.
And I've seen the demo video where he readies PD, as I've seen the Awsomeland video where he readies EES, as I've seen the screenshots of him readying 2hs consecutively, as I've seen him ready CS in the SE video, etc. I'm not sure why you are talking to me like I'm someone who just wandered into this thread with little prior interest or involvement in AV discussion. And I've personally been very interested in the "readying" behavior and determining what causes it for a while, as I know you were too at least at some point.
As for Bartlett, it was my understanding that he is the creator of this wiki, Beastmen Rule - FFXI - - Absolute Virtue but perhaps I'm wrong, in which case I apologize for the mistaken identity.
I could be mistaken, but wasn't the reason you compiled all this information into a single post on BG because you wanted other linkshells to have the resources they needed in order to catch up to Apathy's progress against AV in the hopes that maybe one of those linkshells could find some cool new thing that would make it possible to handle AV post-bracelets mode? So... wouldn't making it easier to lock 2hrs also make it easier for other linkshells to get AV to bracelets and give them a chance to notice something everyone else has missed thus far?
This seems like some heavy voodoo to me as well. It's possibly a glitch, it's possibly observer error, but I can't overlook the fact that it's also possibly true. A lot of members of my linkshell just don't have the reflex or internet connectivity to lock AV as reliably as I want them to. If this turns out to be true, we'll have some spiffy pictures of AV in bracelets in no time flat.
