Do remember that, in the SE video, you see a two hour ability fire off right before it dies. I don't think that locking all two hours is the way.
For what little it's worth (not worth anything at all actually) I'm gonna be back this summer, gonna try to hit 75.
If I do, I volunteer for crazy missions to defeat this ultimate evil! Tarutaru scholar at your service! [Ifrit]
Does Modus Veritas stack on top of itself?
I remember hearing something about a bunch of JP Scholars landing a Helix and then all timing Modus Veritas to end up causing an almost instant fuckload of damage >_>
Yes, but if I remember correctly the limiting factor was that eventually the duration was reduced so much that it terminated before the next tick.Does Modus Veritas stack on top of itself?

I'm curious, do you think an automaton (valoredge or spiritreaver) would be able to dish out good damage on AV? Automatons can ignore quite a bit of mob defense/evasion, so the only main thing affecting the damage would be the damage reduction. And of course, spiritreaver has really powerful nukes, usually on par or higher than a BLMs AMII spells (if pup is fully merited/has most to all the pet magic acc/att gear) unless the mob has a fuckton of INT (like Kirin), in which case it's a little lower than AMII damage. It's also low hate, and if the automaton is killed by an errant meteor or something, then its only a short trip to the moogle to recharge it if you fight at the ramp. (spiritreaver probably would be safe though)
I've never gone pup to AV so I can't say how my Oniwaka fares against him yet.![]()
Ya same thing, but again that will get you nothing at all. Soon as the first meteor goes off you will learn the gravity of the situation you have to deal with, and it isn't pretty. Yes, if you could have it rotating between 2hrs which make it unable to cast it would be helpful, but it isn't the winning strat.
He just does the set of 3 2hrs, then doesn't repeat 2hrs. Acts just like he would if he only had only 1 2hr left at above 60%. For him to rotate through 2hrs, he'd need at least 5 up (if he has access to SAM + RNG he will do Meikyo + EES + EES + EES instead of 3 different 2hrs).
Ya I know all too well, but they could have changed it easily when they made it 2hrs. I hate to think the only thing they did was lower the HP by roughly half, then again it is SE, and they are mentally challenged (literal statement). The fact is, there really just is absolutely no other idea that could make sense or hasn't been tried. If you can't weaken or lock bracelets meteor they truly have the worst game developers on the planet, because it is so far beyond the difficulty of any other mob it is ridiculous, and it is virtually impossible to handle let alone the fact that they placed a 2hr time limit which is connected to JoL. In all sincerity, you could hit them in the head with a hammer and they couldn't become anymore clueless.
What about two 2Hs that never participate in the same combo? Or are there no pairs that are suitable candidates?
So in essence there is no combination of two hours you can leave up that will keep him cycling through instead of meteor? Well that sucks. I can't think of anything else atm. I assume you keep aerns in the area dead? There was that alleged quote from a SE employee (though never confirmed as far as I know) that mentioned killing the aerns. It's never had an effect before, but we were never in bracelet territory before. Longshot, but what the hell.
I am originally from midgard.
These "JPs figured it out! They're killing it." Need to be dispelled.
Not true at all. PB is not anymore advanced in KILLING AV then apathy or Kae's LS.
They might have known about the 2hr lock mechanism long before Kae's post
but PB has not defeated AV. Unless it was using a wall trick (they were mostly justa
king Shell back then) or zerg. Whoever is telling you that is exaggerating. Alot.
Also, can we see the names or screens of at least a handful of these
supposed people with these titles? I mean, I'm sure if so many were showing up with
this title, somebody would screenshot it and post it somewhere?
Its not just PB apparently. What do you know about this "Nirvana" shell that has been teaming up with them? Although I have yet to see any tangible proof, I still think the notion should be investigated rather than dismissed entirely without seeing anything for ourselves. The person who posted the information on here was known as "NSX".
Exactly how extreme can meteor get, damage-wise?
I remember in an interview SE said that they always gear their "Test" people according to how powerful their target is, so they used Aegis paladins for AV and PW.
I remember hearing someone mention Meteor (w/ bracelets) does like 2.5-3k damage, is it possible that maybe having Paladins (2 tanking, 1 or 2 on standby) all having Aegis, capped shellra V on them, and stacking a bunch of Magic Defense Bonus gear would drop Meteor's damage to a more managable number?
Not just talking about the AI thing, but the readies message is still unknown as to what causes it to happen more/all the time/etc.
What I meant by super rape mode is, if you don't do everything correctly, you end up with shit that it might not have otherwise been able to use, whether it continues trying to fight the same way or not... if you do everything they suggested but it still only randomly gives the warning "readies" 2hr message, then there's something we're missing.
We know AV has the weird locking behavior with it's abilities, where it checks if a given condition has been met, if it hasn't, it can use whichever, if it has, that is taken out of it's options. This is completely established now.
The use of the warning has to have some sort of trigger, it doesn't always happen, and last I checked it can do it with any 2hr if it does do it.
Can you say for sure there is no behavior locking check related to the rate of damage dealt to it, or the "readies" message?
Not saying he's going to stop fighting and kneel in front of you, but given their hints, and the remaining ridiculousness even after having figured everything out to this point... there's something big being overlooked.
Is it possible at all that someone wearing a Weapon and/or Torque makes the "Absolute Virtue readies ____________" message visible?
Sorry to throw out another crackpot theory, but it's something that I haven't heard suggested yet... and knowing some of the gimmicky shit that exists in this game, I think it's well within SE's capabilities to do something like this.
That would have been noticed by now I'm pretty sure.
