I suppose so. I think Chi Blast is better overall though because you don't have to be engaged and you don't have to wait for weakness or to be cured. You can also achieve higher damage.

Although now that you point it out, Spirit's Within would be a good way to measure a universal damage reduction formula, if one exists.
No doubt that SAM's can charge a Spirits Within with some HP gear on. But they cannot stack enough HP gear to match a 1200-1500 Chiblast. If i was to ask people to Zombie AV with it would definately be MNKs. This is especialy when you factor in AV's natural damage reduction.
Lets say you can pull off a 900 damage spirits within. after damage reduction, lets say he caps out at 50% damage down like players, your looking at blowing 300-1300 exp to do 450 damage to AV. A MNK would give better results. One person reported a 1500, but i figure most people can pull off a 1200 damage chi blast, with some effort in gear. So , again assuming a 50% damage reduction towards the end of the fight, a MNK would do 750-600 damage per blast.
If im going to have someone go in for a zombie strat, i want them to die as few times as possible.
Also, MNK's have the advantage of discharging Chi Blast form a distance while not engaged.
Yeah, knowing what kind of damage reduction to expect as AV's HP decreases would be valuable information to know. With that info we would be able to see if something as loony as a zombie tactic is even viable.
Yes, but it might be worth observing the damage reduction at other HP percentages so an exact function can be fleshed out (maybe it caps too?)
I really don't mind it at all. I would like to share anything about AV. That's why I keep reporting.
JoL straight tank is not my idea. It's Hogie's at the post #1749.
He wanted someone else to test it and a few people talked about it since his post.
So I was wondering if I should try it on our next test occasion.
But straight tank whole the JoL fight is pretty impossible because of its Luminous Drape.
I just wanted to know what he thinks about it.
To be honest, our next test day after tomorrow won't produce a very good outcome.
I don't believe in the Aern thing which one of us suggested.
Rather than testing theories, I'd like us to practice matching 2hrs now.
The biggest thing I want to do now is to confirm locking all the 15 2hrs.
The only LS which tried this iiZerg, right ? And they said it didn't lock/weaken bracelet Meteor.
I really want to check and conclude it myself.
30+ people are needed for this, so I think this attempt will be next month.
We don't use bots, so the attempt should go like...
First of all, locking by the "only colored" spirals
-Perfect Dodge(green)-Manafont(white)-Chain Spell(blue)-Blood Weapon(black)-Eagle Eye Shot(none)
Locking by the logs
-Hundred Fists(tan)
Locking by the tan spiral after Hundred Fists locked
-Mighty Strikes(tan)
Locking by the HP bar
-Benediction(yellow)
Locking by countering the yellow spiral with Invincible, Soul Voice and Meikyo simultaneously
-Invincible(yellow)-Soul Voice(yellow)-Meikyo(yellow)
(So 3 PLD, 3 BRD and 3 SAM are needed.
By the way, Wynavs should be killed not kited untill here.)
Locking by the Wynav popping
-Call Wyvern(yellow)
(start kiting one of them)
Locking by the yellow spiral
-Astral Flow(yellow)
Locking by the logs
-Mijin(tan)
Locking by the tan spiral after Mijin locked
-Familiar(tan)
(Anyway this is the last 15th 2hr, so you don't care about the color.)
The problem is that the frequency of his 2hr use is Call Wyvern > others > Benediction in our statistics.
So, we have to see off many Call Wyverns untill it's locked in this way.
Also, locking Invincible, Soul Voice and Meikyo may should come before locking Benediction because of the frequency.
Ignore me if you know this but... You do realize the colored "spirals" correspond to the element of the 2hr ability, right? Some of those "tan spirals" you are mentioning are actually red... as in fire.
Don't make me bust out the RGB values...
Mijin Gakure is red.
Mighty Strikes is red.
Perfect Dodge is green.
Invincible is brown.
Hundred Fists is purple. (OMG)
Chainspell is purple. (OMG!)
Eagle Eye Shot would be purple (OMG!!!) if it had an effect.
Meikyo Shisui is blue.
Manafont is blue.
Soul Voice is gold.
Familiar is gold.
Astral Flow is gold.
Benediction is gold.
Call Wyvern is gold.
Blood Weapon is black.
AAAAAAND~~~~~~~~~~~~
red = fire
green = wind
brown = earth
purple = lightning
blue = water
gold = light
black = darkness
Automatons have the same effects with the resulting color being entirely based on the element of the attachment activated.
Actually you said it was the most useful thing you learned from the thread and it didn't even come from the OP, the most useful thing anyone could learn is how to lock 2hrs, and I know some ppl already knew how to, but that is the main thing I wanted ppl to know.
Btw Meteors can be resisted even with no dark elemental resistance gear equipped, there is an example in one of the videos I put in the OP. Now, several ppl resisting is not going to happen, so if that truly happened then you did something which weakened Meteor damage, but I highly doubt that. Also Manafonted Meteor would be doing WAY more than 1000dmg, it would be doing AT LEAST 1200 to every single person even if 10ppl were hit and they all had -50% MDT, the only way you would see 1000 and below is if a mage had -50% MDT and SS along with other things.
Has anyone had a chance to try a full potency Fenrir's favor with a heavy dark resist build? Depending on how powerful it is (which might be good to test...), it might allow dark resist sets go high enough...
Well, speaking theoretically (and this may be unrealistic, so bear with me), you could have absorbers in range with enough dark resist, including something like rdm/smn, yeah? The idea is to be able to at least get hit with meteor without dying, and Aegis plds with the right gear can do that, if I understand the thread correctly.
Meteor is also restricted by the spell timer. So, *in theory*, support could rush in, throw a couple spells, than bug out... (Again, I don't know if this is incredibly feasible). Healers might get away with wearing more dark based gear in general, anyway, without necessarily losing a lot of effectiveness. I don't know if the timer will be too restrictive, though, and an unlucky resist would still probably fuck this up.
For dmg, if blu cannonball works well, than even if they get caught every so often, they can still CB weakened...
people have also pulled AV to that ramp spot, so if plds can actually resist 95% of the time, it should make the fight much more plausible, no?
Meteor... no way your getting a mage to rush in while it is being cast., then run away. Your lucky to react fast enough to toss on a gear swap for the resists gear. Its not like it takes forever to cast meteor. Every meteor i have seen was cast very fast.
Gratned our group doesnt have much experience with AV below 80%.
You would move in between casts, not wait for it to be cast. AV still casts on a timer, if the information is correct, no? So, it wouldn't be a large window, but something like 20 seconds per potential cast.
And mages having to full time dark resist gear might not be the end of the world... or they can simply time it a few seconds before he casts a spell.. etc... It just wouldn't be feasible to DD AV like that, obviously, unless you abused something like blu/thf.
Call me a skeptic but, if you're basing a theory on the idea that the color of the "spirals" have a vital role in how to defeat AV...
why you quitting vs?
you need to be that guy that..
Somewhere, someone is trying to hate you to death for your crusade of trying to convince everyone that AV is defeatable.
(PS: Kill yourself)
That was a very poor attempt at...
