Bah! Stores here don't get games on time. Nor do they break street dates on a regular basis. Guess I have to wait till tomorrow...

ok nvm got it working, god this game is gorgeous
Is it supposed to be somewhat slow? It says I'm running about 40 FPS+ most of the time (sometimes it slows down, which is annoying, but hey) but it feels a bit slower than most other ninja games. Haven't played it too much yet but it seems pretty cool.
It's definitely going to feel slow at 40fps. At full speed it's anything but, and if it was any faster even normal fights would be incredibly hard on the harder of the two difficulties.
Game is amazing. Been playing for about 6 hours total, loving everything so far. The weapon tree is a bit intimidating at first but it flows pretty well once you get the hang of it. I like the fact that every weapon has a unique ability, and so far the difficulty has been just right. Pretty much everything I've ever wanted out of an action RPG, though I'm slightly disappointed in the lack of co-op play. Definitely the best thing to hit the Wii in a long time.
You just need to download the Ocean build of Dolphin in order for it to play this game. Visit their forums for more info
If the game doesn't sell I can't imagine there being any hope of a PS3/360 port.
It'll probably end up on Okami level. Awesome game, everyone who plays it, loves it, but didnt sell enough for them to warrant a sequel (not counting that portable), or port in this case.
Okami got ported to the Wii...and is getting a sequel.
And, I have to say, this game is great fun. And that's an understatement. Loving it so much so far.
As for sales, it might be doing decent already. There are three places to buy games here...Wal*Mart was sold out already, and only two copies remained at Hastings. The other place usually doesn't get new releases in till Thursday.
Played like 6 hours today, really loving it.
Seems like an insanely limited release, very few places around here got more than a few copies and all sold out fairly fast.
Also a dozen people on BG praising a game doesn't really mean it will sell well.
GTFO
It sold out in Japan as well but it was a rather limited release there too.
Valkyria Chronicles is another really good game that has good reviews at every site but sold poorly.
Okami is another example. Every review I saw was giving it damn near perfect and praising it left right and centre. But yet the whole wolf concept didn't really catch on and the PS2 version did not sell all that well. But every friend that I've convinced to play it has become hooked.
People don't like 2D on consoles.
People don't like Japanese culture.
People don't like animu.
People don't care about RPGs that aren't long-term established series.
That is why all of these games are niche. Okami was great. Haven't played VC or this game yet, (ordered them both earlier in the week) but I'll probably enjoy them. Just being a good game isn't enough to be a success. Heck, I would say being a good game has almost nothing to do with being a success.
You're right, see Halo 2 and 3.
Bit of a bump, but idc.
Ok I got this game finally this week and played for few hours and loving it so far, seriously thank you for making a thread about it or I would have missed this game.
