Debating whether to pay my bill or not. Worthless fuck told me there was nothing, observing for no more than 30 seconds, telling me to take some Tylenol and wants to charge me $1,000 for it. Fuck that ngr, lol.

Many things that go into collection over 25 dollars go on your credit report/history, so yes if they did go that route. They will probably write it off (taxes) anyway until paid.
Bleh, still don't wanna pay this fuckin crook.
Was having some bad abdominal pain for about 3-4 days prior to going and continued for a week or so more after seeing him for the 30 seconds that he said there was nothing wrong and sent me on my way.
you can always talk to him about it and what you're (un)willing to pay. You need some steenkeen inshoorance
This was actually about half a year ago, but just started getting phone calls now about it (at least ones that weren't some recording telling me to call another number back). Guy prolly don't even remember me.
I'm currently under my uncle's insurance until I turn 24.
The lady i got on the phone, convo went like this
Lady: Hello, is this mr freeman
Me: yes
Lady: whats your birthdate
Me: 5/20/88
Lady: Ok now that we've confirmed you're travis we are calling to let you know that you owe the [insert name here] hospital one thousa...
me: biiiiiitch *hangs up*
If a doctor looks at me for 30 seconds and says "you're fine," I demand better treatment. I don't let them charge me. I learned that lesson when I was told I had allergies and spent $60 on a bottle of pills I didn't need.
You have to call the doctor about it, or better yet, see him in person.
you'll have credit in your children's name, so I doubt your own matters right?
If you legitimately protest the fees with the BBB/hospital that is a separate issue entirely. But yes it will go onto your credit.
If you are low income, the hospital has a list of agencies usually county or govt that will assist low income people on a required income scale.
First they will send you a lot of bills. Maybe call you at annoying hours, attempting to trick you into revealing information to update their databases (and your credit file) with your current job/income/residence info.
Next will be warnings and late fees.
Then they will send it to their collection agency who will, mark your credit and also try to collect it from you. Possibly more phone calls.
They will send you lots of bills with various threats of collection action and fees.
Later they will either continue to try to collect, possibly bargaining for lower payments or installments.
They might sell it to another collection agency and rinse repeat until they are desperate and start offering deals for lower payment at a reduced total bill.
Pay in mind that each agency attempts to update your credit file database with any current info they might gather on you that can be used for collection purposes.
I have seen this happen for bills under 1000.
The different collection agencies have separate policy but they buy bulk bills, uncollected and in the negative, at whatever rate, with hopes of collecting them from you by offering reduced fees and odd bonuses.
If the bill is left unpaid for more than 90 days, providers will usually send you to collections... I do medical billing and some of our doctors choose not to - but I can't imagine a hospital not doing so.
Wouldn't be an issue with an NHS style system.
I don't see a problem here. Just waltz into a bank with a fake gun and demand lots of money then be out on your merry way. Pay the hospital and sip on your tea.
Talk to the hospital billing department and tell them you are too poor to even afford paper tissue. See if they can't put your broke ass on a monthly payment plan or something similar.
I owe well over $100,000 (probably more into the 200s) in hospital bills and I haven't had a single problem with my credit. Yes, I've had some notice that they were turning in that direction but never has anything effected me.
