    WWing 87-> 96: Lacquer Logs?

    Almost 87 woodworking atm, thinking that lacquer logs would be a good way to level up woodoworking.

    My problem is there are like none on the AH, so I'm wondering if anyone knows a good way to get these logs? Maybe farming ameretants?

    Anyone know something better to skill on instead?

    Do Kabura Arrows to cap (91). They require Bone sub up in the mid-50s though. The Lacquer Log bridge I did sucked bad, as the logs were bought up the second they popped up on the AH when I was doing it. D:

    Mythic Poles -> 89. Ancient Lumber @ 35k a stack and the poles NPC for 4.5k each, so you lose about 8k on 6 synths. Lacquer Tree Lumber is about the same, so save the logs to go 89-91. 91-95 cut Bloodwood Logs to Lumber, always a profit and i even HQ'd two of them on my way up. Then you can Lacquer Tree Sap to 96, Lancewood to 99, and i break-synthed Iron-Splitters to cap. Good luck!

    Yeah.. On my server at the time, it was about even going from log>lumber.. But a 80k loss if I busted one. I stayed far away from Bloodwood. <.<

    Just get support and you should be fine. I think i broke 2 in the 70 synths i did from 91-95, which accounts for the 5% failure rate.

    I am pushing woodworking to 100 right now and just hit 97.3

    Get your Bonecrafting skill up to 53 and do the K. Arrows. They NPC for more then material costs if you get the ram horns for 3K or less each. It can take some time to get the heads and fletchings but it's a *gasp* profitable way to get to 91.

    Once I hit 91 I did Eight Sided poles to 94. It's not a huge gil sink, as myt ingots are easy to get on the AH and you can make the lumber of logs at Carp landing cheaply.

    then I used the Laq Logs > sap to get to 96. It takes about 80-100 logs (at the 1 skill to 4 syths rate) to do the 2 levels, but just haunt the AH and buy them up as they come up. On Phoenix they bounce between 5-6K each and you can sell the saps for 800 gill each to make back a quarter to third per synth. It's just a matter of waiting for the logs. Since they drop in campaign, and can be choco dug, they pop up in spurts, especially on the weekend. Just wait you will get enough in time. It took me 2 weeks to cross the 2 levels.

    Then its harps to 98, lancewood to 99, and Jarcandia to 100.

    Good luck!

    I got to 89 on mythic poles, did 8-sided poles to 93/94, then cynthara's to 97/98 then lancewoods, then break synthed iron-splitters.

    Bloodwood was not out when I did this (4-5 years ago) and I was in a rush to finish, so that might be a bit pricey way to go.

    Break synthing worked since I was able to level smithing to 45 cheaply and did not foresee (at that time) an interest in bone crafting.

    I got to 100 a few months back but lacquer and lancewood logs are random in regards to supply. Sometimes I had to wait a while to get as many as I needed, so things like cyntharas worked as good alternative and arn't too expensive.

    Break synthing saved my ass going to 100 though, that shit was a million times cheaper then crafting an infinate amount of poles. Also wait for the artisans advantage buff, and get signet/synth support for it to work.

    Edit: Also depending on your server you might be able to sell kaburas for a good price if you have a lot of RMT rangers that do odin/ixion often

    Well so far 8 sided poles are working well, as my smithing is now 29 and WWing 89.

    I'm getting .2 skillups on smithing and .1s on wwering quite often, synthing both together at once is pretty awesome concidering the alternative for smithing is steel sheets, which are 50K stack, opposed to these poles which are 70K. In other words I'm synthing smithing up like normal and adding another 20K/stack for practicly free WWing skills.

    Whoot?

    Mythic Harps are a better alternative to Mythic Poles since they're break even more or less and go to 90

    Up to 93 now. Finding lancewood logs are really sexy skillups. Should be clear sailing til 99 now, just wish dyna shells would stop NPCing and dropping the logs and put them on the AH for me ;_;

    Quick question, you think my 75 dancer can solo leshonki bulb NM during night?

    If you're in a hurry, I'd suggest doing what I did, but it is a high gil loss due to NPC.

    Just do Cythara Anglica until 98, then do Piece Of Lancewood Lumber to 99 (it shouldn't take that many, but there's never really a lot up).

    For 100, you really only have 2 choices:

    Iron-splitter to => Steel-splitter (I was lucky and just bought a stack of Piece Of Steel Walnut Lumberx12 off the AH to finish to 100)

    or

    Piece Of Jacaranda Lumber (101). For some reason this has still not been added to the FFXIAH.com site, but I can confirm it's either @ 100 or over 100 cause I tried some out @ 99 and got skill-ups.

    Honestly, both really suck. I think Jacaranda Lumber has gotten better due to it being used in some high lvl synths, but back when I did it, it was hard to get the lumber to sell efficiently.

    After doing some Lumber, I finished out with Iron-Splitter => Steel-splitter. The skill-ups on Jacaranda were few and far between, for some reason. Ultimately, it's what path you want to take and depending on if you're really in a rush or not.

    If you leave your Smithing low enough (45-50ish) you can simply breaksynth the Iron Splitters to go from 99>100. I ended up buying a stack of Adaman Ingots for this, and only used up 8 (2 successful synths, 6 blown into the abyss, and a free .2 on smithing :3) to reach 100.

    Though if your Smithing is capped, iron splitter>steel splitter as Liminality suggested is the way to go.

    Yea, definitely. Unfortunately by the time I had reached 99, I already had Smithing 60. So, break-synthin' for me was not an option, lol

    from 99 to 100 I would say find a smithing buddy and do Jac logs to lumber get him to make the Agmentable Brd Dagger Dweomer Knife it think and share the profits $$$ the whole lvl. I made an F'ing fortune but I got to 100 right when the Augmentable weapons came out. By the looks of it you can still turn a profit on these.
