In regards to those figures you have to realise the majority of the population are straight up fucking idiots, I for one feel enlightened that I am not one of them.
Ok im back bitches, lets do this.
Honestly, most of the theists I talk to don't even know the 6000 year old BS. It's not that they believe the scientific view point on the age of the earth, most of them respond with "I never really thought about it" or something along those lines. I know a few YEC, but they aren't the majority based on everything I've seen and heard on the matter. Hasn't the pope supported the age of the earth predictions and he also said evolution is compatible with god. Most of the Muslims I've talked with believe in an old earth as well. It's really only christian sects and only a minority of them.
Sorry for the late reply, I had a busy day today.
I can believe that the age of the earth is something that can be completely foreign to a lot of people especially since that woman on the view said something quite similar about if the earth was round or not. I guess those people would leave the question blank if they saw it but they aren't too smart to begin with so it's hard to know what they did.
Where in that post does it say Catholics are not Christians? All I said was specific christian sects believe that BS. The only reason I mention Muslims and Catholics specifically is because they have prominent members of their religion who don't support a young earth model.
It was really just because you specifically mentioned Catholics and Muslims and then went on to say only (some of the) Christian sects believe crazy shit, as if nothing previously mentioned were a Christian sect. This is why I asked broski.
