Someone close to finishing a Relic on Diaboros was hacked. A player on FFXIAH was hacked. Still waiting for someone on KI + Alla it seems (Unless I missed it).
Anyways, SE should just make a mule on the server so they can get these tells themselves.

hackers likely game players, they check equip of people & target those with relic or rich players, log to mule & send tell..
it is selective.
I would like to meet the person stupid enough to fall for such a tactic.
I had a good one yesterday afternoon
Newsk>> Dear Sir/Madaam: This is GM newsl. You have been (.....blah blah blah)
No, that isn't me mis typing either
Why can't PlayOnline take action against this. Isn't the PlayOline with the huge O like trademarked or something? No clue about international law and trademark/copyright infringement.

They posted up saying,.So I do not know how elaborate their plan is but at least they are aware of it.We are currently investigating and working to take the appropriate actions against these malicious websites.
Edit, I just posted a thread in the ffxi official news section. SE is implementing a new rmt tell spam filter with the next version update.
I have gotten several of these as well. I logged into one of my test servers at the office then went to the URL to see what it looked like. If you didn't know it was a phish you could easily be convinced it was a legit site
Regarding Chatmon, I used to get a few tells per day even with chatmon going, which was quite dissappointing since I heard so much talk about how it's pure win. Downloaded version 1.62 (latest) from the site and didn't get a single one since for whatever reason. Noticed before I replaced the old .dll that the chatfilter included *brogame.com* even tho I still recieved tells from them, which was strange. Just try downloading the newest chatmon and see if all spam-tells don't stop^^
Swear to god these fucking people are pissing me off with these tells now. I report each one instantly that comes up but they're coming back again & again like flies on shit.
At least they are suggesting that people just put all necessary info into the initial report so we don't expect a live gm callback. I like to report mine through pol email customer service to STF though.
When you have reported them back to back, have you had any stf replies saying you don't need to report them? What I mean is did you have an active GM call in cue while you reported the next one?
I am curious how this works since I have not had back to back /rmt tells before.
I just get automated replies back saying that they're working on it etc.
Well with the filter lets hope it's more effective than what I'm saying it'll be.
Kind of comical how little control SE has over it's own world sometimes.
They made AV to control it for them. You can't argue with a mob whose name is Absolute Virtue!
I've been using ChatMon for the filter for ages now, and recently, I too, have started seeing these new RMT tells slip by. Updating the filter did not seem to work for me. However, if you read the information on the ChatMon plugin, they say you can make your own plugin that loads with ChatMon that you can edit (unlike the official filter).
What you do is place a file called spamfilter_custom.txt into your Windower > plugins folder, and each line is one filter (hit return to add a new filter). Every time one of these tells get through, I add the line to the spamfilter_custom.txt, then //reload chatmon. I've been seeing less and less of these tells since I began doing this.
Here's what I have on my list so far, and it'll be updated every time I get a tell with a new bogus link:
*BR74*
*brosale*
*oforu*
*pcgamerusa*
*playonline-ff11*
You don't need any xml tags or any fancy formatting. Just put wildcards in front of and after the link.
Well unless I'm just a total retard, I think SE might have done something. I just tried to go to the playonline-ffxi site on my work computer to have a little fun with the RMT, putting in bogus POLIDs like Youradouche but I got this instead...
Spoiler: show
Spoiler'd for large picture, no decent image editing programs on this computer, not that it'd be able to run them anyways. So slow...
Anyways, either the RMT packed up and moved to another URL or SE's actually doing something to them.
If I want to use Chatmon simply as a filter and without the extra .wav files triggering, how do I alter the setup? I read the instructions for setting triggers and didn't understand a word.
This is the same reason I gave up with Spellcast. I can't understand XML, and the instructions written by the people that code it are generally not suitable for a lay audience. Such a shame.
