Would a SCH 2box for AoE Stoneskin/Phalanx 1 work just as well, or would the SCH get hate from casting the AoE buffs? Could even do AoE Windstorm for the Stormsurge AGI bonus.

Anyway, enough QQing, back to parry.

SAM/DNC earth staff -PDT and def food (I recommend fish kebabs, you probably won't have enough DEF to make good use out of tacos and they're much, much more expensive).

Between meditate, seigan+eye, and mobs constantly feeding you TP like mad (remember, store TP works when getting hit) you should have no problem staying alive. If you can find gavial cuisses (or hydra) and have Askar feet you can be fancy and have -25% PDT for a combined 45%.

With that and DEF food you shouldn't need a healer, remember seigan+eye works very well against fast-hitting or multiple enemies (compared to utsu).

Mobs to use would be, as others have said, mandies in tree are good, but if you're unsure of yourself crabs can work as well, they'll deal less damage overall so are a bit easier to handle.

In order to get to cap though you'll need to venture into Rancor or be willing to search out only EM mandies in tree (or EM-T crabs in tree).

    ((-PDT > Parry Skill > DEF/VIT) + patience) x patience³ = parry skill
All of this is making me want to skill up parry before I get to 75s.

I noticed you did not have success with the Martial Master, did you have signet?

As long as you don't have the Samurai act upon the parry mob (and obv. the mage shouldn't as well) it should be fine. I'd still rest (if your mage has to rest) more than 25 away. I made that mistake once on chigoes as I countered one wearing Usukane Gloves of all things. Had to put it out of my misery as it kept running back and forth after a min or two of parrying.

I tried the marid chigoes lastnight, went from 230~240 in a little under 2hours, I think I'll keep at that for a lil while, went quiet well I'm guessing my last 10~15 skill will come from tanking NM's that are 85+

also my server just got martial mastery today so I may take advantage of that with some Pucks perhaps depending on if the RDM is coming on at all tonight so I know if I can d.box his acc.

After doing about 30-35 skills of parry with signet on martial master, I'm pretty certain it doesnt apply to defensive skills (parry/eva/block/gaurd) and instead only to offensive melee and maybe magic skills.

My set up as dancer, I'd go /rdm for phalanax and moar def, but atm:

    parrying daggerx2 (+20 skill)

    Parrying torque +7 skill

    Parrying earring +3 skill

emissary boots +5 skill (also +5 eva skill but I guess its worth it)

    Woodsman rings, -5 eva each

    Tilt belt, -5 eva

Civilian mantle, -10 eva (no boxers for me ;_

    Spelunkers hat -10 again

Two peices that I'd lurve to get are gnole torque for another +10 skill and of course boxers for a total of +55 skill. atm at +35 so thats not half bad, I notice a dramatic boost to parries usign this set up.

I keep fan dance up permenantly, duh, and generally tank a EP mob, unti lrecently. I've found that mimics give really sweet skillups, as they attack very very fast and have low hits, as the game doesnt care how hard the mob is hitting you, thus mobs like crabs and beetles are not good for parrying, oposed to fats attacking low damage mobs like bats and mandies.

Hope this helps, I know if your on sam I'd use earth staff over GK since you should be able to heal yourself /dnc with meditate TP alone, and all your JAs still apply since its still 2 handed weapon.

/shrug opens up more -dmg slots for more parry+, i'm pretty sure you heavy melees have a lot more parrying+ gear if i'm correct.

Get three people to enter bhaflau remnants with you, kill Mad bomber, and then let the rampart pop five chigoes.

    They cap at 269

seems like a waste of a run lol going to be difficult to find 3 people that'll actually want to blow 1500 and have to wait another day to do salvage unless they have an off day and AP to blow.

Yeah I really like that idea too...

Maybe hire 3-4 rdms to keep you alive while you hold as many chigoes as possible?

Not sure if you guys know about this that if you draw your weapon prior to the mob getting claimed, after it gets claimed, your weapon will still be drawn out unless you went into melee range. And you will get the message "Unable to attack, target is claimed..etc". Usually i did this instead of targeting a random mob because i don't really like the random movement of the unclaimed mob.

Well, to each his own i suppose. And also, i read somewhere on KI i think, that martial master doesn't do anything to defensive skills. But of course i will still have a signet just in case.

Has Martial Master helped any in your opinion?

Been feeling tempted to suit up sam/dnc in oshi- gear and earth staff next time I'm bored.

just messing around with a puck earlier today landed me .8 in little under 30 minutes, I had to stop because LS asked me to come PT on BRD which made me QQ, seems every time I'm trying to do something they ask me to come PT somewhere on a job that I enjoy.

I solo my tabs on dolls in sky, i'm 238 parry. Never seen a parry skill up, or it's very rare.

Bugbears, Byakko are the only things I seem to ever get parry ups, off of.

It's possible to pop DC-EM, or T-VT chigoes in MMM. I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread, so here's how: Rune 06(Vermin), Rune 014(Tiny Warrior), Rune 102(Trial By Numbers), then Rune 018(Might) if you need harder chigoes.

Basically, Vermin + Tiny War + Trial By Numbers will spawn three rooms of either beetles, bees, or chigoes. You usually see at least one room of chigoes, and that's all you really need. The chigoes in MMM have names above them, so they're easy to spot, and plentiful, but I wouldn't recommend pulling more than 2-3 at a time.
These aren't nearly as weak as normal chigoes, especially with Might equipped.
They hit me on SAM/DNC with a taco, Protect IV, physical reduction set, etc for ~40, so Phalanx II would help a ton.

Anyway, that's all I have to add, really. Costs 500 marbles to get a maze for this working, btw.

The best way to cap parry to just tank everything you can in events. You're going to lose your mind if you try to cap it.
