Called season 6 pages back. The only issue I can see developing is that it took a full 5 seasons to get to where we are now. How much can they do in season 6 if a new storyline is presented without needing to go into season 7 and beyond.

Hopefully Kripke can get a nice big story out there that spans a few more seasons. While with how the writing has been even without a huge interesting overarching storyline the show will still be enjoyable to watch to be as awesome as it is it needs both to continue to really shine.

I wonder if there will be a different form of apocalypse, maybe we'll deal with a 2012-ish apocalypse scare or something, heh. I'm sure there are legends, folklore and other religions that have an apocalypse story to work towards. And that doesn't even need to be the main storyline anyway, just one that makes sense.

Season 5 ending has already been written out. Season 6 will be a new storyline.

There is a very dynamic difference between writing to end a season and writing to end a series.

If it's the last episode of a series, you can pretty much do anything you want to with the characters. ie: killing off Dean or Sam or both to stop the Apocalypse.

However, since we know they'll be back for next season, it removes most of the 'what's going to happen' drama out of it.

Continuing the show is great as long as the writing stays up to par with what was done before.

So, Kripke will still be involved, but Sera Gamble will be in charge?

I approve. Shes been onboard for such a long time, she knows what this shit's about. Granted, she wrote "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester," (UGH) but I won't hold that against her, since she also wrote "The Song Remains the Same," "Heart," the first half of the season 2 finale, "Jus in Bello" and a gazillion more of the most awesomest of the awesome episodes.

New episode tonight:

The boys visit Bobby's hometown and investigate deceased family members coming back from the dead.

Wonder if there will be any lingering effects from the fallout with Famine from the last episode between Dean and Sam.

Good episode, though I'm still curious to actually meet Death. It was a nice reminder that despite the long running with the show, Bobby's actually one of the "expendable" characters. XD (As in, Kripke would totally kill him off for an audience reaction, not expendable as in the audience don't give a damn.)
