I took what Zachariah said to mean that he was just there as bait all along.

I am SO SUPERHAPPY about how they handled the return of Adam. He was a different person than the ghoul (which made perfect sense to me, since y'know... ghoul), and I am even happier that he's not set up to be a permanent fixture on the show.

Some parts of the episode felt a little stilted; it didn't flow as well as I'd hoped. But I really loved how tense/somber the whole thing was. That was awesome.

Now if only Sam could cut his hair and lay off the 'roids, I'd be happy.

My bet is that it's similar to how Michael was in John in one of the time travel episodes, he can take over their body, it just won't "keep". So I think there might be a chance we have Adam-wearing Michael vs whoever-wearing Lucifer vs Sam + Dead in the final showdown.

I also screamed when Dean gutted Zachariah. And yeah, like Eaglestrike said, now we have the two angels who were supposed to do battle using inferior vessels, and we also have Dean and Sam still around. It makes me wonder though, is Michealangelo going to go after Lucifer immediately? I'd expect Micheal to be in better shape since his vessel is in the appropriate bloodline. Or will he just go around trying to convince Dean to say "yes" just as Lucifer is trying to convince Sam instead of just going on with the world destruction plans with the inappropriate vessel

He only went to the future once, but yeah - then he met the devil wearing Sam's body, while his future self had resisted until the angels decided to fart off. However, they've been given very specific details about when Sam will say yes, both in the future and in the present I believe (iirc, anyway - I think both the devil in the current dude's form and someone in the future mentioned Detroit, "6 months from now" (ofc, around series finale time). Whereas there's been no real indication Dean will ever say yes, besides the angel's insistence that he might as well just give in, because they're gonna keep pestering him until he does.

Also, Sam has a long history of doing things Dean doesn't agree with or otherwise fucking up (leaving his family behind, his "evil destiny, oooo" in season 2, My BFF Ruby, (whcih led to the) demon blood addiction, (and) starting the apocalypse, etc, and it's almost always been presented as something that he could have prevented if he'd just listened to Dean's futile attempts to stop him.

Dean's own fuckups however, have always been presented as noble sacrifices on the show (crossroads deal to go to hell, giving into decades of torture and thus breaking the first seal, etc).

...I think I think too much about this show. >.<

Kind of predictable... I was incredibly disappointed with how weak the mythological gods were. I mean really, did they think charging at Lucifer and punching him was going to work? Shouldn't they have had more powers than, say, the average demon?
