I might as well buy the Kraken Club from that guy who makes them rather than this...

Yeah ><; I took it out to bring to work (lolGameStop job) to show off ONCE and the Sand'Orian ring turned completly black while the coating on the windy ring chipped and cracked (it was gold..) They were out of their boxes for less then three hours and I never let anyone else touch them x.x; I know silver tarnishes but I can't get the Sandy one to look right anymore.. The Windy one is just a lost cause now.
In short: For $100, there better be some kind of game-breaking in game item for me to even consider ordering one. I'd like a FFXI Nametag, it would be cute, but after the poor quality of the rings? ><; Perhaps not.
I still don't get why there aren't fataru plush dolls.
This thing is so fucking weak I can't even think of a good joke about it.
So not only am I loser for playing a video game for 6 years, now I can be cool as fuck and wear DOG-FUCKING-TAGS with my server and character name on it to show off to all the ladies.
"Hey dawd, nice dog tags. Where were you stationed?"
"Naw brah, I got these for playing a video game"
Oh wait, here's one.
Maybe SE thinks we have this sign on our backs?

ffffffffff this is so lame.
It does appears to be reasonable compared to other dog tag-esk jewelry but there are several key issues I think SE really needs to look at or at least comment on.
1: Material. I want to see some specifications. That better be real silver, not the crappy silver plating on the Talisman.
2: In-game bonuses. If there are any, what are they, and will they affect the in-game balance or be a simple convenience. I think the concept of the Talisman pulled this off by being not exactly game breaking, but a nice port to Nash for Einherjar.
3: The pricing. Most FFXI players are going to look at that and immediately go "What the fuck." Relates back to point 1. We need more details to justify the price of the item. Although after doing some research, the pricing makes sense, or at least reasonable. However, the lack of information will drive players away from the item after seeing the $106 price tag.
I haven't told myself I'm not buying it quite yet. I'm really hoping for some new information.
It's kind of like hunting for bigfoot. You can go on a bigfoot hunting expedition with a friend who wants to go and tell your other friends it's a "camping trip"... and maybe even have a great time. But the second you walk out of your house wearing a Bigfoot Researcher's Organization t-shirt, prepare to be ridiculed indefinitely.
A little bit of math...
FFXIAH says theres about 1,599,921 characters. Suppose thats 1 char + 1 alt, we cut that in half, its around 800,000 main accounts. If everyone bought that cheaply made thing it would come out to around $84,800,000. Do you think that money would go towards FFXI? and if it did how many expansions do you think they COULD make with that. Remember in business money = motivation.
Billy Mays could not even get me to buy one of these
The people who are buying it aren't posting, so I will.
I'm buying it. Like it was said above, good memory of FFXI to keep.
I'm going to hang it in the hand of my Shadow Lord statue on my desk![]()
wat
In reality, at least it could be melted down and sold for scrap silver by your grandkids when the next recession hits, as opposed to a $2,000 bot, a relic weapon with bought gil, or an <insert virtual item here> that some of you crazy kidlings are spending your money on these days.
woulda bought in a heartbeat, then i read the price
So let me get this straight:
Some people here bitch about the sole existance of a jewelry item that they have no intention to buy because of the price.
And then the same people bitch about no ingame attached that may push them to buy it for said price.
What's next? Bitching about SE doing RMTis business for making you buy overpriced ingame items?
