HOLY SHIT THAT IS SO AWESOME. I can't wait to see the final finished piece (from reading your blog, I definitely think that the lights behind the mask will add a great deal to the look of the costume) The attention to detail is amazing, I love the hand print on the mask, very gruesome!

I'm just curious about the hand.

You mentioned animatronics being used for the left arm, how much were you able to do with it? From the pictures supplied it looked like the most you could do that I could see was open-palm/close-fist by pulling on something. I've been interested in animatronics (the electrical/circuit-controlled kind) for some time, but I like knowing how people approach more traditional means.
(which I'm assuming you're doing for this case for sake of weight concerns. Servos + Batteries ain't fun in something that looks heavy enough to begin with)

We're currently talking to a few people at the Georgia Aquarium. There is a tube that goes beneath their large saltwater tank that we're hoping to do some photography in. I'd probably have to release some of the rights to the images to the Aquarium, but I'll post those up when they happen

I'm just curious about the hand....

I could, in all honesty, do very little with it beyond bending the fingers. This was my first attempt with such a task, and I learned a lot for the next time. I followed a few tutorials I found on instructables... something I should have learned a long time ago not to do. In the future, I have a much better idea of making cable-controlled digits, should the need arise.

Again, with the time constraints, I had to make a choice of a very well functioning hand with a static drill, or a marginal hand and moving drill. The more showy piece won out in the longrun.
