So to use the CE upgrade do we have to use the code from the retail box first or can we just put the CE on it first? Or better yet, does it let you just "buy" a CE code without attaching it to anything? Cuz I'm bumming $10 off my dad for it this Friday, would really suck if it doesnt work just because I haven't got my retail reg key yet.

You can buy it but, like Meresgi said, it will just linger in your account inactive. You will be able to attach it when you get your retail key.

Mine says the same thing, I preordered the CE on NCSoft's store as well.

That's what mine says. It has 'Collector' under the serial codes used, so I'm not worried about it.

how does it go from "preorder" to "collectors"?

Mine has only ever said "collectors" but I paid upfront on steam. I believe if you order a physical box, it will say "preorder" until you get the box and apply the code inside. NC/steam orders are just purchase-->ready to play.

Glad I can just let the CE key linger around, but don't really want to wait 5-10 days for my copy of Aion to get here, hope I can intercept the shipping to my local gamestop and/or have them give me the reg key before they ship it off.

The wings are in the CE. Preordering gets hat and ring, but more importantly the exp boost amulet.

Recharge. The CD was like 8 or 9 hours

The regular >CE upgrade is at the ncstore only, but you can get the full CE at gamestop and prolly others. I read something about the reuse on the amulet was 9 hours so it seems you can reuse it, and there was no indication of a limited number of uses that I have seen.

I preordered from gamestop and bought the collector's edition from NCsoft. I have a serial code sitting on my account now but when i go to apply it, it tells me that "this code is valid, but it cannot be used to create a new account and cannot be applied to existing accounts" so uh... yeah. I'm gonna contact NCSoft about it today

edit: nvm its one of the first things on the knowledge base they have going.

"Aion Standard Edition or Collector's Edition Serial Code received in your retail game box will not be active until Aion officially launches. You will receive the error Serial not yet active if you attempt to apply a retail code before the official launch date. You will have to wait until the game launches before you can apply your retail code."

So what Server you guys rolling this time around? I want Israphel only because it sounds like the Angel from Evangelion. I think we are going back to Nekezan though.. it would be awesome if we could all play on the same server.
