BG Dermatology - Psoriasis

I was curious how many of you have or knows someone who has psoriasis. I've had it since I was about 16. How do you guys treat it? I use cream almost daily but in the last week it's gotten a lot worse. Especially my scalp. I've heard there are shots and such, but I was wondering what other options there may be. I haven't researched it or anything. Just looking for statements about results and maybe advice. Thanks.

I suspect I have scalp psoriasis, but haven't been able to see a dermatologist to confirm since you can pretty much label me as one of many Americans unable to afford basic health care. Pretty much played WebMD on myself and matched up symptoms. There's also some kind of dermatitis that similar, but I don't think it technically has a cure, either. Just treatment.

Far as treatments I saw back then, there wasn't really anything you could constitute as a cure. Creams, ointments, and in scalp case, tar shampoo could help subdue flare ups, and I wouldn't be surprised if there some kind of shot, but until I have more money to throw at a doc, I'm afraid I don't know much more.

Has anything about your environment been different the past week or so? I forget the name of the effect they gave it, but it's basically a trigger where extreme environmental conditions or stress can either activate or aggravate symptoms. Thinking back on when mine started to develop, I was working in a high heat area with a hat on, and the effects practically cover the entirety of surface contact there. I've used shampoos and apply moisturizing cream now and then, but sometimes I'll get really bad flare ups (usually if I let my hair get too long).

Tea Tree shampoo works well for Psoriasis of the scalp. As for creams, Aquaphor should be of some relief.

Aren't steriods good for treating that stuff? Not the OMG BRAH I ROCKED AT GYM TODAY ones but the medical ones. Also, it's probably not psocirociocosioucis, it's Lupus.

i get it on my elbows, legs, and behind my ears. it clears up easily everywhere but my legs. i use betamathasone or some shit daily. pain in the fucking asssssssssss

Tea tree does seem to help plus is smells good. T-gel as well. I need to schedule something with a doc tho. Getting flakes in my eyebrows is not fuckin cool.

My dad has started to suffer from this recently (scalp psoriasis), he uses a Nizoral 2% shampoo prescribed from his doctor. Works pretty well apparently.

I think that's what you meant to say. So no clue on shots or anything huh? It may just be stress from school starting up but idk. It's never been this bad before. Not to mention how bad it sucks when you get it on those oh so intimate places and it splits the skin when you're erect.
