If you completely eliminate taxes on very low income families, the problem is that...THEY MAKE A LOW INCOME ALREADY! Taxes for them are relatively low anyway. Example:

Someone that makes 30k a year pays around 4500 (15%) in income tax (in 2009). 4500 is a nice chunk of change but it isn't going to mean the difference between poverty and not. thats an additional $375 per month. This is hardly going to allow someone who makes 30k a year "wealthy." And thats not with a tax REDUCTION but rather with federal tax eliminated entirely.

15% of not much is not fucking much. Lowering taxes on the lower class doesn't suddenly give them some kind of buying power and income that allows them wealth potential.

Lol it won't make you wealthy in the sense of being a millionaire and buying yachts and buying a huge mansion no. But I know that it would certainly take away a lot of stress about money and make people live more comfortably. I know in my life an extra $4500 a year would allow me to go on vacation or buy myself some nice stuff or pay down my student loan faster or my mortgage faster both of which would ultimately free up even more disposable income to invest or save for the future. Either way that makes a larger difference than you would think.
