This is where #1 in my strategy comes into play. Even in open-mouth form, assuming the tank is up to the task, this shouldn't be an issue. So long as you can get a turtle build, 2x Minne, DEF food (taco/pescatora) and some form of phalanx, this is a joke to tank/keep hate on. Healers shouldn't be using Cure4 unless they have a great deal of -enmity.

Reprisal is KEY in making this laughable to tank. Use it well, stack massive haste when casting.

Pld in MA flashes 2nd copy of pru. Once thf is over 50" away from MA, we start to damage 2nd copy. Take it down to about 10%~ and hold it. Once thf has deaggroed, they let us know. Approx 3m after thf says deaggro, 1st copy depops and 2nd copy opens its mouth, at which point all our blms am2 it to kill it.

Pretty much as easy as its going to get, only have to deal with open mouth pru for the time it takes am2 to cast. If you cant hold the closed mouthed form once you have it at 10%, you have bigger problems than strat.
^ this is the easiest way i think.

We normally take it to 5% have a few rngs or sams hold TP. Right when his mouth opens rape it.

We always just had one tank hold both and killed one of the copies. Then after the first one was killed just kited it around the bush at it's spawn point. Never had any problems after we moved to having just one tank for both at the beginning.

I just got a PM from yotevol about this, and I should have stated:

Your comment to keep bio II on 100% of the time seems like Bio should be casted while the first is being kited away. However, if someone does then the 2nd JoP being kited away will come back. That is, if I understand the way the hate works...
Do not do this until after the other one is 50' away!

My way of doing it does not involve depoping one of them, so you need to adjust it slightly if that's the plan.

As other have stated the easiest way to kill JoP (in my opinion) is to have a Thf or someone wtih access to flee pop from outside the alliance. Hit flee > pop JoP > run toward SLD. Have the PLD voke the second unclaimed copy and pull it over to the alliance and straight tank it there. Once the first copy is out of sight range you are safe to start dmg on it.

Slowly nuke/melee it down while the outside Thf kites the other copy a good distance away and dies. Once Thf dies it starts a 3min timer til first copy depops and the other copy which you are holding opens its mouth. Keep dmging it until its down to low HP, while your Thf makes his way back to camp to apply Treasure Hunter. Soon as it opens its mouth > zerg it down in a few seconds > profit $$$.

We have killed it like this many times and you should usually have 0 deaths. Its a very safe/easy way to do the fight.

How to kill Jailer of prudence in 3 Easy steps:

What you need: 1 thf with Flee up, and 2-3 pairs of Powder boots.
2 PLD/NIN(second one is jic can be solo tanked), 2x WHM, RDM, BRD,

    1 THF for TH, 4+ BLM's

Idea: Seperate and depop one prudence by zoning it @ sea lion's den, while tank party works it down @ pop spot.

Okay, so 1) Thf pops prudence and pulls one to Sea lion's den, while the pld Flash's the other @ pop and just straight tanks it.

    2) While PLD is straight tanking BLM's start dotting and using t2/t3 nukes and DRAIN(drain so awesome). to work its hp down to 10%, then hold.

    3) The Jailer @ sea lion's den depops, and one tank is holding's mouth opens. Blm's t4/am2, and dead.

This takes 10mins per pop, involves 0 death, and is relatively easy to tank.

The advantages. With mouth closed Prudence moves with enhanced movement speed, but attacks are weaker and tripple attacks less, thus being able to be straight tanked fairly easily. You also manage to SLOWLY cause damage to it over time with t3 and below nukes, t4 if necessary, and then have it kill shot able by 2 BLM's am2ing @ 10%.

EVEN IF THEOTHER doesn't depop, and it gets close, you can kill the one you have, and swap to kiting it around the bushes or what have you, but thats -never- happened to us. Basically, if you can pull the second prudence to the point where mobs go from being Om'xxxxx to Ul'xxxxx it won't relink with the one you are fighting, and simply depop.

The disadvantages. This relies heavily on competent BLM's watching their hate and not just spamming t3's and t2's constantly. This relies on competent whm's to cure3/c5 as necessary and not spam c4's. In essence, it just relies on competence, but this can be done with as few as 10 people(comfortably). So take it for what you will. Just be careful with how you handle yourself, while doing it. But its pretty simple and basic >.>

Fawk Syphon and a couple others beat me Q.Q. Anyways, yeah this is easiest way todo it lol

Against the single open-mouth one, our problems were always more that the PLDs would lose hate rather than die. Generally I'd come to Prudence BLM/NIN so I could take an attack round if it came to that and I'd hit my damage down macro each time after I nuked. I probably died half the time, but Prudence is pretty bad ass and I was always activating my Sorc ring as a taru so I had about two hits of HP.

Another tip that sounds stupid but is useful:
Keep Bio II on Prudence. That way he can use his Erasega move instead of a nastier one. Also lowers his attack, for all that helps.
ya but toward the end, we just ended up solo tanking both of them like Ringthree said earlier.

just out of curiousity, did other tanks parse the defense part of that fight with K Parser? if so, how much does it average on you? the melee hits only averaged 88 on me as a nin. but those none aegis plds had like an average of 120 according to the parse lol. if i had to go back, id rather sub /war. our prudence fights lasted like 5 min. blms chain nuked the second it was popped so there is no time to gather accumulative enmity. you gotta go balls out on hate right off the bat. i just sit there recasting shit, taking its weak ass hits lol. but if the fight lasted more than 10 min or so, i wouldve probably subbed /rdm. /drk was ok for spike, but dispel wouldve made it a lot easier.

This is the correct answer in my opinion. Well, safer answer. If you have 18 for some reasons, you can burn it anywhere, but these tree near the quasilumine are the best, and there is no aggro.

My best kill so far was with 7 people (blm/nin x5, rdm, thf).

    Strategy:
-Clear the phuabo in water close to the spawn point
-Thief spawn Prudences and flee to the "3 quasilumine trees" and kite the 2nd there
    - Blm pull 1 off the thief and kite around the tree that was cleared. When the thief is far enough, they manaburn it, then go help the thief.

Back then, I didnt know you could despawn Prudence, so you could simply have the thief die far away, wait 3min before starting to fight. It wouldnt change much to the strats.

The only change i would make to this is, theres no reason not to do damage to prudence while its mouth is still closed if you are planning on depopping the other one.

Just so I'm clear on this, as other people have said conflicting things. You can damage the Prudence being held while the other is being kited away, after the one being kited is 50' or more away, correct? Damaging the held one before then will cause the kited one to come back?

I have personally kited this as PLD many times and I have my BLMs start damaging my JoP as soon as the THF's copy clears the wall. I have never seen the THF's copy come charging or warping back.

I like the accounts of PLD/RDM working for straight-tanking this, as well as reports of better kiting places, as the bushes near the pop point have horrible pathing when kiting counter-clockwise. JoP likes to cut that south corner and triple-attack me when I have fewer than three shadows.

I'm not even 100% sure it has to be out of sight range as long as the kiter is outside of alliance, but I have heard that he can warp back to assist the other copy if its too close when you damage it or feed it tp. Just to be safe we always let it get out of site range before we start damaging it and we have never had the 2nd copy link, it always depops 3min after kiter loses aggro on it. The kiter and JoP both have flee speed when its popped typically.... so it only takes a couple seconds for it to be clear of the 50' alleged link range.

We have similar experiences, richardd. At first it seems like it should be very difficult, but if you have the positioning correct you can even get both of them in front of you for shield blocks. It can require a bit of healing but nothing compared to the complicated set-ups I have seen listed above.

Basically, there are only two kinds of mobs left in the game, ones that can one-hit a super geared tank, and everything else. If you can make it so that these don't one shot your tank, then it's easy to deal with.

As for your tank losing hate? Everyone should really know by now that if you are kiting a mob and you get hate on it, then you need to kite too. You get stabbed if you are a BLM and pull hate and just stand in the middle of the mages so the mob can AoE everyone to death. The mob stops to do different TP moves a lot so if you are smart about it, anyone can kite these.
