I've noticed some say Mark 2, but I haven't been able to find anything doing searches for what the difference is. Is it a very big deal between regular and Mark 2?

Here's a really good thread I found while looking for a good one on the official PSP Boards:
Memory Stick Pro Duo Transfer Speeds - PSP®General - PlayStation.com Forums
Just be wary of buying them from Amazon Marketplace or eBay, you'll get fakes galore.
Hmm, actually I don't see the Mark 2 on that thread, but I believe its 20MB/sec parallel transfer speed. I personally have the Sony Mark 2 16GB card, and it's blazing fast, and I've used it for transferring movies/mp3s from my PC to my PSP. Are you getting it for PSP usage?
"Mark 2 Certification
As of early 2008, Mark 2-certified versions of the Memory Stick PRO Duo became available. The Mark 2 designation indicates the Memory Stick is suitable for use with AVCHD recording products or other faster Memory Stick enabled devices by providing appropriate minimum write performance"
It will work with old devices too.
Yeah, for PSP. I have a 2GB right now and I'm only using it for game saves. I was looking into getting an 8GB and download some PSN games, but I saw 16GB and starting thinking about music and video lol.
I don't have a Mark 2 though, so I was wondering before I got one. I saw a bunch on eBay but they ship from Hong Kong, so I guess they could be fake.
try tigerdirect and fry's.. I wouldn't buy cards on ebay.. to many fakes.. and those screw up your speed and information to be notworth the risk for the price.
Is there a good way to tell if its fake? I see a lot on eBay all the time, but since they're all from Hong Kong, I'm guessing they prolly are.
Sometimes you can't tell from the packaging or info, so the only way to tell if it's fake it's to actually test it in your PSP for compatibility. Eh, buy it from fry's or other reliable places.
Yep, don't think that not buying from someone in taiwan will stop you from getting a fake either. I ordered from ebay, someone in the US, selling for a little less than normal price thinking I was saving money. Card once you got past 80% corrupted all data, and would not allow you to save on the card in games. Yeah talk about getting fucked by a knock off.![]()
Ew, well I guess I'll look around for an 8gb, I don't think I have $100~ to spend for just my PSP.
