Acne and everything with it. (help me medical ppl!)

Background first. I'm a 28 white male. I don't have any serious health issues that I know of, no allergies, etc.

I've had skin problems ever since I was a early teen. The type of acne I get isn't typical small zits(but do get them sometimes)but rather cysts or even boils. I also have constantly had razor burn ever since I can remember. I've tried everything under the sun that you can buy at stores just about. I have been going to dermatologists off and on since I was 18.

My current dermatologist I have been seeing for roughly 7 months now. I've had 3 visits. She told me my acne will be life long and there isn't much I can do about it other then take the prescriptions she gave me which include: SOD SULFACET 10%/SULF 4% WASH(body wash), MINOCYCLINE 100MG CAPSULES(antibiotic), CLINDAMYCIN 1% GEL 60GM(for the razor burn), and TAZORAC 0.05% CREAM 30GM(nightly face cream).

Still, I get breakouts every so often. This is so frustrating to me because I eat very well, I'm not a dirty person at all, and I'm a pretty decent looking guy when my face doesn't look like a meteor hit it! Is there anything I can start doing on my own that can help out the breakouts and especially the razor burn. I've even cut down to a single blade razor and take my precious time, but I still end up bleeding like a stuck pig.

Also, not sure if this is reaching, but I noticed one thing. While this is a very small sample, I quit FFXI for about 2 months. Face "seemed" to clear up a ton. When I started playing again, I had some really bad breakouts on my face. Is sitting in front of a pc screen for multiple hours possibly hurting myself too? Last thing, someone suggested seeing a doctor about getting an anti-anxiety prescription. I'm not an angry person, jumpy, or have super high stress, but my job IS stressful and while I don't show it on the outside, on the inside I go bonkers sometimes.

    FFXI causes pimples.

Edit: It does sound like you have some anxiety problems maybe.

I've been a gamer since NES and I never had issues like this. That's why I wonder if it's sitting in front of a screen for long periods of time.

I forgot to mention that I tried talking to my doctor about Acutane, as I heard/read that it's extremely powerful at eliminating acne permanently, but initially she said my acne was not severe enough to warrant prescribing it. Last visit about 2 weeks ago she said they pulled it as it has too many side effects.

I have developed a complex over the years about my skin. I'm not a vain person by any means, but I feel like everyone is staring at every blemish I have. I'm also not a depressed person at all, but it's a huge downer when you wake up with a wonker on your forehead or nose. That probably adds to the anxiety issue.

I know what you are talking about as I have had skin problems for a while too. The best thing I can tell you is for razor burn/red irritated skin I got a product from my dermatologist called a "sensitive skin cleanser" made by Skin Medica, and because I have really dry skin another product called "Ceratopic," also from Skin Medica and I have literally had almost no breakout/red skin since. They are definitely the best two products I have ever used. However I must note that I never got any boils so we could be talking about two different situations, I would ask about the Skin Medica products though because imo they are great.
Also I know what you are talking about with eating well, cleanliness and still having terrible skin while your friends eat mcdonalds ten times a week, used to drive me nuts lol.

I hate to interrupt you Qalbert but this meme will not die.

Edit: I can see your stressful job causing your skin problems. My solution for you is find something relaxing to do every day.

Look Qalbert, I'm not an emotional guy so this is not me going /emo about anything. I created this topic because it's a frustrating thing I go thru on a daily basis. I'm looking for suggestions on how to help this problem. You making childish contributions is not welcomed. If you think it's funny and you want to keep posting insults, then god bless you and have a nice day.

Honestly if your acne is that severe and refuses to go away accutane would have been the perfect answer. It's a shame it was no longer cost effective to sell accutane due to being sued so often.

I also went through the same problems you had. My dermo gave me all of those medicines that they gave you and the only thing they did was give me sensitive skin permanently. Tazorac, Clindomycin, and Minocycline all destroy your face. If your acne is going to be a lifelong problem there might be no recourse. As far as Acutane goes, I was given it and used it for 6 months. Another good friend of mine was on it for 4 months and they both worked. My suggestion is go to your dermo and inquire about Acutane. As far as i know it is NOT off the market seeing as how my friend just renewed his prescription a few days ago. Also, it doesn't hurt to get a second or third opinion. That is the only way you'll get informed advice.

Definitely inquire about acutane. It was able to get rid of my acne below the skin, cysts and the like, but Tazorac has been able to keep the surface acne under control post acutane.

Best thing for your problem would be Panoxyl-Wash-10 look it up on google, i used it for a while, though it stings like hell.

Beat off to help with the stress, then spread the jizz on your face to help with the acne.

I believe the only thing ever on the market that helped to clear acne permanently was accutane (Retinoids) as panda mentioned. It literally shrinks the size and production of your sebum glands. It had a ton of really serious side-effects though. If you do decide to get this (can you still get this?), just be aware of the side-effects. Bad acne can really hurt self-esteem, so for many it may be worth it - just realize that some of the side effects can be permanent - even after you stop taking it.

Outside of Accutane, meds you get are typically antibiotic related (since acne is caused by bacteria) - for instance your Minocycline. The problem with ongoing acne is you're killing off most of the bacteria when you start on the medication - face clears up a bit - but you end up leaving the resistant bacteria and selecting for its growth. So oftentimes you take the med, clear up, then it flares back up to normal or even worse months later (resistant bacteria selected). At this point, the antibiotic is useless because the thing it's trying to get rid of is resistant - and yet you still have to deal with all its side effects.

1 practical tip that may help you is if you sleep with your face to the side, try changing your pillow sheets very often. Those sheets can build up a lot of oil and your face is pressing right against it for hours at a time at night if you sleep sideways.

This is what you should do, the protein in semen fills up the pores and makes your skin clearer and more soft. Sounds really gross and shit but this is the cheapest and most natural way to clear your skin.

    Edit:
Let semen stand at room temperature for five minutes to liquify.

Dab on to skin, wait for it to soak in.

    Moisturize your face.

    Leave that for several hours.

Do this three times a week or more.
