Can't believe I've never heard of this game; it looks amazing. I hate adding yet another game that I need to buy to the first half of this year though. It's like Oct-Dec stretch all over again. <__<

I have been tracking this game for a while, and aside from the many obvious Zelda tributes, there are supposed to be nods to other games as well. They seem to be taking a lighthearted approach to it, and I think this game will be great. I also wonder how they can do this without Nintendo seeking legal action. I'm no lawyer, but I'm sure they found a way to do it because its a bad idea to fuck with Nintendo. Some blatant Super Mario Galaxy ripoff in Japan is being sued by Nintendo right now....lol

I'm guessing since it is being done as referential humor/homage, Nintendo might not mind so much. I mean I don't know for sure, but I know I wouldn't personally be like "Hey they rippin me off!" Then again it is Ninty, so... /shrug

didn't the patent on the original zelda expire anyway? I thought that was the whole reason all those nintendo-in-a-chip things sprung up a few years back, since the patents only lasted 15 or so years or whatever.

In any event it's been out in japan since november with no lawsuits yet, if you're really that concerned you can just pick it up when it gets released her and hope it becomes a collector's item.

Not entirely sure how I feel about this game, the $40 price tag seems too steep for a game that is more like a nostalgia indulgence for SNES gamers. The gameplay looks pretty solid though, so I'll still probably pick it up if it has good game length.
