    Yeah NA version is still in Beta, but from what I can tell they're slowing adding updates that make it look more like the JP version. Otherwise, the JP and Korean version is at 60 cap right now with a lot more dungeons and items, along with an entire class Thief and the Avenger Priest subclass, all of which we have no access to immediately. Also they're extending it to 70 cap in those versions soon, with more dungeons.

    From what I've read online as well, items you purchase with Nexon Cash are also much cheaper in those areas in comparison

    Sure. I have a 26 Monk now in addition to my 37 Blademaster. If anyone wants to play with me, hit me up.

    Monk = Chogen
    Blademaster = Metah

    By the way, the new EXP cut was drastic, somewhere between 50-55% from what I can tell. Its much better this way.

    Was going to play this with the ladyfriend: she likes guns and I like to bash shit with fists.
    What classes don't suck?

    BG didn't seem very interested in DFO, so I've mostly been hanging out with some people from SRK. We have an IRC channel that we use to chat and organize groups for dungeons and PvP. #srkdfo if anyone is interested. We are also planning on making a SRK guild whenever they finally get implemented, with a large number of people rsvp'd to join.

    All of the gunner classes are pretty good. As for punching things, monks are pretty pimp in the priest side of things, and strikers are the most punchy fighter. For the best info about classes and such, check out http://wiki.dfo-world.com/index.php?title=Main_Page

    I've come to the conclusion that no class sucks. All of them are strong in their own unique way. That said, Monks are fucking strong. I've found that gunners are hard as fuck to fight in PVP with other classes, but Monk just destroys them with quick combos and the means to close the gap between them quickly. Also, Will Driver stuns enemies within its field of effect when you first slam down your Giant Weapon. Makes it easy as hell to stun a gunner long enough to get near them. Although I haven't fought any Rangers yet admittedly, they will probably be more trouble since they can move while firing.

    Thought I'd necro this. Not sure if anyone here is still playing this but me...

    Well, "Beta" is officially ending today. It's been a long beta, and a lot of stuff has changed. The level cap has been raised from 40 to 50, female gunners have been added, guilds have been added, awakenings have been added and Hell Mode dungeons have been added. The experience curve was toned down, so there's not much grinding the same dungeon over and over (not until 45+ anyway). There are lots of avatars, and advanced avatar sets, and you now have the option of either buying tokens for the gumball machine and getting a random avatar with random stats, or paying more and picking the avatar and stats that you want. Good stuff.

    That said, DFO still has a long way to go to catch up with the Korean and Japanese versions. The cap there is 70, there are a lot more dungeons, and a whole other class (Thief). There have also been a number of patches to improve/balance classes, most notably for priests, who get highly overhauled with whole new skills. This patch is supposed to be coming soon for us, and as my main character is an Exorcist, it can't come soon enough.

    If you tried this months ago and got turned off by the grind or the lack of content, give it another try. If you've never heard of it or have yet to try it... do so. Personally, I play this game for the PVP, with dungeoning being the mini-game between matches that improves my characters. I'm big into fighting games, and DFO is honestly the closest thing to a 2D fighting game MMO that exists. DNF Arena matches are a serious business e-sport in korea (though not quite as serious as Starcraft), and it was featured at WCG for the first time last year. If you like intricate, fast paced, competitive PVP, you'll like DFO.
