What patches/firmwares are you guys using? I just have the AceKard2i and don't know much about all of that stuff.

Used to just torrenting > play. Extra steps involved in this frighten my new kart.

I'm also interested in this, I've got the AceKard2i also and I'm getting the infamous White Screen. I downloaded the newest firmware that was on the AceKard website but that didn't seem to fix anything.

Ok all I did was try 2 different torrents.

One torrent came with a packaged rar of firmwares and this program to insert them to, and then extract the game to it and open this other thing. That gave me a full screen DS emulator on my pc or something, which I didn't want.

There was another torrent I found that worked off the bat. It's 4171 the title of the rom is the full title of the game and at the end of the title it says _USA_NDS-XPA and it's working so far. I'm sure there will be a glitch somewhere though. The download states that the US version doesnt seem to be identical to the JP version so maybe some differences in the anti-piracy check.

Looking at the file from that torrent, the game says either cracked or patched in the filename.

people need to play this game. it's just plain brilliant. great writing, loads of entertaining minigames, fantastic battle system, even the exploration is a lot of fun. and I haven't gotten there yet, but apparently there's enough endgame content to make it last a long while. I'm starting to sound like a broken record now, but honestly, it makes me completely forget about the dissapointment that was Partners in Time. the plot is a hundred times better.

Is the world map larger than it appears to be Yuri? I just entered Peach's castle, and I just have this huge feeling of "That's it?" as far as the world map is concerned.

It just feels like the whole inside-Bowser portion of the game took away from the rest of the game's size.

that I don't know... I only just got to Bowser's Castle myself.

I think it is fairly small, but there are tons of secrets and lots of reasons to go back and cover older areas.

Game is a lot of fun. They didn't change much from the previous Mario and Luigi games, which is a good thing since the series had a pretty win formula. Plus, you absolutely can't go wrong with Fawful.

However, the mini-games Thulius mentioned give me fury. I've come so close to A-ranking 2 of the mini-games (Green Shell and Goombas), but missed both with < 5 to go. I seriously felt like throwing my DS against the wall. It's actually really reminiscient of the Whyt mini-games from FF4 DS. I'm also scared to ask, but is there a rank above A as well? Are these items even worth the effort?

I gotta say that Bowser is a lot of fun, esp the mega Bowser fights. Someone mentioned that they didn't like that they had to use the mic in the fights. I usually play my DS on the train to/from work, and I didn't wanna be sitting there blowing into my DS either. I found that if you rub the mic port with your finger, it gives you the same effect as blowing.

Most of the A rank items are pretty useless. Daredevil boots have potential (2x damage, but you die in one hit) but I'm not good enough to make use of them. They also seem to nullify the damage-nullifying accessories so you can't cheat the system that way.

Pretty sure there's no rank above A and I will be very angry if I find out I'm wrong.

why does that sound dirty to me?

and oh god, the whyt minigames. don't remind me. the action-based ones were ok, sorta fun, but perfecting rosa's was pure luck, and rydia's was pretty much impossible without cheating.
