    Thrice - Beggars

Anyone else pick this up/download it?

Has some similar moments to The Alchemy Index, especially "Air"... but it's still much different. I'm loving it, personally. As much as I want them to go back to Artist in the Ambulance style, this album is very good. The song "Circles" is just amazing, imo.

I got the itunes release a month or so ago. I really enjoy it. I didn't buy the physical release even though there is something to download extra tracks.

The AitA/IoS Thrice is obviously long gone, which is sad, but I actually like Beggars. Has kind of a Brand New thing to it, very nice background music. I wouldn't play it in my car, but definitely when I have my girlfriend over/doing a paper or something. Relaxing stuff.

For the record, The Alchemy Index sucked enormous black dong.

Vheissu I always thought was an odd album, Artist in the Ambulance and Illusion of Safety are my two favorites. AitA especially.

I didn't like it very much. I wish I could get another Artist in the Ambulance from them, but I doubt it'll happen.

Everything after Artist in the ambulance has been TERRIBLE. Honestly though, everything after the 2nd CD (can't remember name off hand) is just downhill. Nothing beats 1st and 2nd.

Oh wait. Illusion of safety. There we go. Yeah they might as well be a different band now and I can't stand it.

AitA and IoS I love, but Identity Crisis... really? It wasn't bad... but it's definitely not great, at all.

Identity Crisis was amazing just because of when it was made. It was a great hybrid between punk and what they became. In 2009 it's not awesome but in like 1999 it was fantastic.

Identity Crisis and Illusion of Safety are the only two I own by Thrice. It was all downhill after that.

The only band for me that's consistently been able to slightly tweak sounds between albums and pull it off is Every Time I Die.

Artist in the Ambulance was a downhill turn? Album was awesome, and possibly their most popular. For me, Alchemy Index, possibly Vheissu (had a few good tracks, but overall I didn't like the album much) is when I think it started going downhill.

Considering Vheissu was when they really turned away from their more hardcore stuff, you can't say that Thrice is "gone."

And you must be trolling because Alchemy Index was one of their best. Sorry if I don't want to listen to the band reiterate the same sound album after album. That's why I don't particularly like Muse anymore.

My mistake, I was thinking about IoS, not Vheissu... though Image of the Invisible is one of my all time favorite Thrice songs.

My band used to cover Identity Crisis in high school, to a fucking T, I honestly haven't heard a single song from them since then and hearing their new stuff now is such a weird feeling... it's like a Corey Taylor change, not as drastic and not as good of a vocalist but it's pretty significant.

This. Artist in the Ambulance is my favorite album by Thrice overall.

I may like the earlier stuff more, but I can definitely appreciate and enjoy the new styles they are trying out. That's what music is people, experimentation.

I'm finally glad to see Kensrue finally doing something musically. I despised the first two albums sans a few songs (Deadbolt, Kill Me Quickly, and a few others)
