Can you get medals without being in a party? Like attacking the fortress without being in the legion that captures it.

Yup, we got medals for both fortresses and aren't in the legions

Fortresses hardly ever become vulnerable on my server (Siel W) I've actually never seen a fortress siege battle occur and I'm on a lot.

Is there a way to trigger it?

I've mostly seen it at night, think it started around 8:30 server time last night.

Do you only get gold if your in the Legion that gets the kill shot? Only got silver medals (dunno how the system works). How does fortress claim's work... is it total dmg done or kill shot? Seems to be kill shot but that's totally retarded if true so kind of hoping it's otherwise

Not in the legion that got claims.
First Fortress: Switched between asmo and boss the whole time, got 2 golden medals. Kerb did the same thing and silver. My game also crashed in the middle of it, so I had to run back at one point.

Second Fortress: Stayed on boss whole time since asmo weren't coming in, used 6k~ arrows, got 3 silver medals. Fayttt did the same, but he crashed in the middle and got 0 medals.

Thought I read they were typically set to begin around a server's primetime, 8pm. I chose a West server despite being EST since I'm usually up late (and Kaisinel not being congested, I guess), and the couple messages I've seen about vulnerability have come sometime between 11pm-12am, which would be 8-9pm for the PSTers. I'm not sure if it's every night, every other day, or what.

Despite the Balaur holding a lot of areas in the Abyss, running around trying to pick on Asmos or even work on some quests has me feeling like the Asmos had more safe spots to hide in. I know there's one quest I can't complete because the NPC doesn't show if it's not Elyos controlled.

I crashed a few times during the 2nd fortress... game cant handle loading 100+ ppl all casting shit on the boss. I'll be honest... I'm only 28 and was mainly auto atking the 2nd boss until asmo started to show up at the end. 2nd boss had way to much hp or something cause it took f/e and it seemed like Elyos had way more ppl there then at the first boss. I got 2 silver's on the 2nd, got nothing on the first cause i died towards the end and released like a nub... took me until the last 2% to get back and sneak past the 50+ asmo in the corridor (gogo stealth).

But then again, many other ppl in Excellence didnt get anything and they crashed less then me.

Game seems to have a small memory leak, or the servers just can't handle that load of ppl all in once. I had no issues w/F12 key, but even loading all models it only dropped me to a consistent 20fps... I shouldn't of been crashing

Forts are capped by the alliance that does the most damage to the boss, medals are awarded based on your dps. Top 20 get gold, next 20 get 3 silver, next 20 get 2 silver iirc. It depends on the fort though, powerwiki has the chart.

So it seems because raising armies of dead people and curing millions upon millions of HP does not net you any medals. That was disapointing. Going to have to bring the DPS gear to boss fights i guess.

Healer get medals based on healing, my friend got 3 silver for main healing on cleric.

Yes, it appears the Asmodians on Siel are having difficulty overcoming the Elyos zerg. Where's your higher population now!?

Then the system must retain your [total] data done to a mob unless u fully log out past the 5min grace period. Because there was no way I would have gotten any medals due to the game crashing a few times. Nice to know

I'm fairly sure it does, I've gotten abyss points from someone dying later on when I'm in Sanctum before from someone I damaged but got killed by.

If you are in the alliance that attack fortress, you probably gonna get a silvers anyway. But how many and what type of medals are depended on dps and heal. I was grinding outside West Siel Fortress and still got 2 silver medals.

Curious about this, myself. Even if I think I've gone to the middle of fucking nowhere in the Abyss, a group of asmos always finds me and ganks me mid-fight with another mob.
