Patch notes are out for the Korean test server 1.5.1. Quest experience is up about 500% on average and SM pets can finally fly so they can fight in the air. Also, there is chance on extracting which gives you a debuff that brings your chance to gather successfully down to 0% and you have to enter a captcha to remove it (lol). Level your gathering now, I suppose.

Link to the notes? Heard whiff of the EXP thing, which apparently will also kill grinding to a degree, but dunno if there's any truth to that. Recall the SM video a few weeks back about the spirits. Just kinda curious what all to expect.

For people who played the Asian version with a English pack that is just sad, i have no respect for people who go ahead of the game and try to prove something because they know what to do already. I condsider that cheating..

Just wait for the rest of us and learn together as a group.. I am not even sure most people will keep playing till level 50.. Some people in BG like Noobta who have no life and play for 12-15 hours a day, that is not acceptable at all, and most guilds frown upon people who waste their lives in front of a computer.. That is just wrong..

Other guilds do not know what is going on and offten make mistakes and its a part of the game because nothing is set in stone.. No one knows yet what chanters will be like at 40-50 or what is going to happen its so new still..
Wow, playing C-Aion or K-Aion is cheating? Are umad because you didn't check it out yourself, so now people are higher level than you? Everyone had access to C-Aion, why would you not play a game that some people have been waiting years to try?

Really? No one's 40-50 yet? Half my legion is 40-44, and on Siel there's a 50 already. I'm about to hit 43 myself, and before the "no lifer" comment gets tossed at me, I work full time and have an active social life.

If you were trolling, grats. If not, wow you're retarded.

You, sir, have been trolled. That was a chanter's post on our forums after I kicked him from our legion. He started attacking our vastly superior knowledge on the game & for some reason picking on Noobta. This guy also said he melees FT boss (he was lv.27) and therefore knows for a fact that he will have no problems in end-game being a damage dealer. He had some other dumb posts, but that was the best one.

    Aion™ Online :: Server Statistics

Not even 1% of Siel is above 41. If there is a 50, who really cares, or even people in the mid 40's. I don't get why people are pushing so hard to reach max level within 1 month of the game coming out. What are you going to do at level cap when 98% of the server is still leveling?

Don't lose exp at 50, so I can go around and die as much as I want

Alot of incentive to get to max level.

    1. More time to farm AP equipment.
    2. Level 50 can pretty much gank a 40 at ease.
    3. Killing boss and make epic money?

Sorry if tl;dr just hoping to strike up some interesting conversation.

I'm curious to hear some of your opinions on the state of the Atreian community, specifically for players coming from Vana'diel, and perhaps even more specifically, folks that didn't have friends migrate over with you.

As far as in-game goes, am I the only former FFXI player that feels isolated and/or lonely within the in-game community?

We all know there were a lot of people in XI that were obviously only looking out for themselves, but it just feels like nearly everyone in Aion just doesn't care about making friends or just chatting with random strangers in their group. It's like they just want to group to get the needful done, and go on their merry way as fast as possible. Hell, I've seen more bitching and fighting in groups I've been in than actual friendly conversation.

I've never actually played a PvP centric MMO before though, so I wouldn't know if this is the norm for most MMOs like this or not. Do you think this game being very PvP focused has any kind of reflection on the way that the community behaves toward each other compared to a more PvE centric game like XI?

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of PvP, and I knew what Aion was all about before I picked it up, so I can't realistically be disappointed in the game play aspects as I knew what I was getting into, but I guess I was just caught off guard most by the behavior of the community, and the every man for himself mentality.

I think the flow of conversations are different because Aion altogether is a much more difficult and fast paced game. No one really has any time to bullshit around and talk especially when so much is at stake. (soul heal prices, time consuming back tracking, getting ganked by elyos groups)

I remember when I leveled my Paladin in FFXI there was plenty of time to talk in EXP parties. With macros, PS2 control and what not to make things easier, how longer it takes to down a monster your level.

I recommend you try playing with people that have Vent. Typing and playing at the same time can just be a goddamn nuisance.

That's a really good point, I guess I can see that.

It's just such a huge change from what you get used to over the 6 or 7 years in XI (or however long it was from NA release). When you're so used to one thing for so long, something this dramatically different seems almost foreign. Maybe I just need to give it some more time and try to join a larger legion or something.

I don't know why people assume if you're a high level at the moment that you're pushing and racing to 50.

I like this game, I've been waiting for this game to come out for god knows how long. I'm playing the game a lot for those reasons and because of that I'm leveling faster than other people, sounds normal to me.

Most people who are 40+ right now are in Legions of 40+ people and therefore when they hit 50 will be doing level 50 stuff with their legion. Who cares about a server full of pugs still leveling when you have a legion of competent people on your level. Everyone will catch up at their own pace, but in the mean time, leveling and playing with people who have the same amount of playtime as you is what most people do.

God I want to level faster but I have done 0 leveling in the past two days because I am getting really bored of chanter. I can't seem to find any good grind spots and I really don't feel like killing mobs for an hour for 1 bar. Its just getting frustrating but maybe I have just hit a boring patch of Chanter -_- I'm not getting any new abilities, every level has just been an upgrade of the shit I have already.

I know what you mean, this far in Spiritmaster and I'm still using the exact same spells I used at level 13. The best thing to do when you get tired of grinding is to find a group an do an instance, do some crafting, catch up on campaign quests or what not.

The XP jump on levels in this game is huge and the mob XP really doesn't keep up with it. Grinding in the Abyss if you can tolerate it is the best thing you can while leveling as it gives tons of abyss points, but not everyone has the patience for it.

If it makes you feel any better, Chanter gets amazing at level 42 if you can make it there! Something to look forward to

Yeah I stopped even attempting to grind in the abyss because I cannot exp for five minutes without having to run away from a gank group. Also, I'm level 34.. isn't there a big jump from like only level 33 mobs and no inbetween up to level 38? I can't kill that high yet. I guess I just need to search around Beluslan more for a better grind spot.

Does the steel rake instance give decent exp?
