I'm guessing that system.ovr means override, if you delete the system.cfg and the registry entry with your system specs to reset your settings, it might work

I heard there was also a setting similar to that thatoutputs the chatlog to a file. Wonder what NC does when it finds these settings altered?
The conclusion to the multibox ban thread earlier, from an NCsoft rep:
"We've taken a second look at this particular case and have found the suspected use of 3rd party software to be an absolute. Without breaching confidentiality or giving away any secrets, our GMs personally monitored these accounts and we've spent a great deal of time since then determining that these accounts were not banned in error."
only took 14 pages of QQing lol
Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I ran into a weird Inescapable Judgment (Templar) bug last night.
This happened to me last night while a friend and I were killing a Templar (Sword/Shield). The Templar used IJ and I pot'd and tried to run away, but it seemed like the leash from IJ was still intact, meaning I couldn't really get away. You know how Gladiator's 2000 DP skill basically stabs a mob and then swings it around? That's similar to what happened, except it seemed like I was actually merged into him as opposed to stuck on his weapon (1h Sword) tip. I did try to open my wings and fly up, but nothing changed, aside from the wings appearing. This kept going for what must've been 10-15 seconds, while he was free to continue hitting me. Eventually, my friend killed the Templar, but I still couldn't get away. In fact, it got even buggier then because it almost seemed like half of my character was stuck inside the ground. I'm guessing this was just because he was kneeling over (death animation), and I was still leashed to him. I eventually got aggro from a random Balaur mob because I couldn't move, and ended up dying.
Happen to anybody else?
Did I miss the train here or did someone troll the PowerWiki? All I've heard about crafting expert titles is that Crafting - Aionopedia.com - An Aion: The Tower of Eternity Wiki these are them. Since they game first came out it was accepted that those were accurate and everyone and their mother should do tailoring blah blah blah. Aion™ Online: The Official Aion Fantasy MMORPG Website - PowerWiki These are nothing like that and make all my crafts on all the wrong characters.
It is possible that those titles are accurate, but it also mentions you need to be 499 skill when 449 appears to be the highest possible at the moment, which would mean they are unattainable at the moment if true. The page also mentions you can only master 1 craft, when you can actually master 2 now and there is a special title for that as well. They probably were discovered in the data files somewhere, so I wouldn't rule it out as being possible in the future.
I got expert crafting and it says you got a new title when you complete the 399>400 quest ( in game it says so I mean ). but there isnt one![]()
Ragns was kind enough to add an Aion server option for your profile info under your avatar. This only works on certain skins though if you're curious why you can't see it.
Nice. Now I can be the only person on Kalil >.>b
I don't see it, maybe I missed it. But I see nothing on them fixing Cleric rez's that result in shit aggroing and wiping groups from a rez.
I was hoping for some opinions, apologies for the tl;dr, I’m long winded.
First, I’m not really all that much into PvP. Yes, I know, this game is all about PvP, but so far I’m enjoying the PvE portion of this game and to be fully honest, I am realistically only playing this game until FXIV comes out anyway, so I figure I can look past the odd gank and chance encounter with the opposing faction until that time comes, it’s still mildly fun when it happens anyway. Regardless, that’s not really the issue I’m being plagued with.
So far in Aion I’ve tried Assassin, Sorcerer, and most recently Chanter, and I honestly have been feeling pretty unfulfilled with the experience, particularly speaking to the first two choices.
I’ll admit that the most fun I’ve had playing this game so far was doing the Black Claw missions in Altgard for the third time as Chanter. I duo full time with a friend of mine who is a Ranger, and so far the duo has been working extremely well. I act as the tank of sorts, and have been quite happy with the performance of Chanter both as a DPS and a low man tank. I was particularly surprised to find that we could duo all of the elites for said quests, it was fun as hell.
Honestly, for me the problem lies in a lot of the posts I’ve been reading on other forums (lolaionsource) about Chanter at higher levels being pigeonholed into a mana pot-spamming, cleric healing, buff bot, with no opportunity to DPS in 90% of grouped situations.
I guess I’m just looking for some opinions from higher level Chanters, or folks who regularly use Chanters in their groups, as to what you normally expect from your Chanter, and what you would deem as unacceptable in a group situation. I just really don’t want to be looked upon in the same light as a melee Red Mage, and don’t want to level it any further if I’m just going to get thrown into that position later.
AionSource looks to be turning into the Alla of Aion.
There really are two ways to play Chanter from what im hearing from people i know, there is the Buffing type and the DDing type, it entirely depends how you do your Stigma & Gearing, im not entirely sure but i think Fallisa can point you in the right direction with it. there should always be the oppertunity to do some damage, having keybinds for healing clerics is a given.
Instances you may be forced to heal assist if theres alot of AoE spam or your healer sucks. but thats a given with the type of class you are playing.
That’s reassuring to hear, thanks.
I can definitely respect that Chanters have healing spells, HoTs, and buffs for a reason, and that my responsibility is to ensure those are begin kept up with first and foremost. It’s a pretty busy job but I honestly feel that with practice a good Chanter could keep all of those items in line and still crank out some decent DPS. I know a lot of people on Aion Source are forgetting the additional debuff effects that a lot of Chanters skill combos apply, in addition to their direct DPS.
I think where the lines are becoming blurred in the Chanter community is the use of an MP heavy stigma that spike boost the parties DPS capabilities (Word of Inspiration), and that spamming that on the party while chugging mana pots is far more effective than having the Chanter use that time to actually DPS themselves (GCD on WoI is 10s with a duration of 15s, each use costing 300mp a pop).
Ah, the RDM dilemma...
In our little roup of six we only make the Chanter heal when it is a hard fight we know of, boss hitting like trucks etc, or we decide to go and pull a 6 pack of mobs and have no CC (this happens way too much).
In the level 30-40 area if our Chanter healed at all he would often pull threat off of the tank and end up tanking stuff due to them having no threat dumps so it was something we only used ocassionally
I think somewhere in the 40's you will get a spell called Recovery Spell, this spell is insane and pretty amazing (i think its a 10 second cooldown 1.5 second cast and 770 hp a tick every 2 seconds for 6 seconds or something like that) once you get this our chanter just always puts that on the maintank through a macro (you could make one for your friend and chage for tanks name/target when you join a group) whilst he is using all of his melee moves. As god as Word of Inspiration is, spamming it 24/7 isnt needed at all, we only really use it on bosses, as thats where it really matters, if your group is really in that much of a rush to make you spam it 24/7 chances are they aren't going to make it to the end anyways in most places.
I have grouped without a Chanter once (i am one of the lucky few to have a "perma group" with one) and it was horrible, I don't think anyone is going to complain if you are the "DD" or the "healer" Chanter, just use your brain and switch when you think its necessary and everyone will be happy.
Regarding the pot situation, i think every class other then Gladiator and Templar are pot spammers they seem to spam HP pots instead, as an Assassin i can use anywhere between 100-200 a day.
Yea, I absolutely can't wait for Recovery Spell. 2313 total HP healed over 6 seconds for 290 MP is fantastic. It only costs 17 more MP than casting Healing Light IV 3 times over those 6 seconds, and frees you up to be doing other things. It sounds amazing indeed.
I think you're right though, I think it really comes down to just knowing when to step into each role, and acting accordingly based on the situation at hand. Chanter seems to be one of those "Jack of all trades, master of none" kind of classes, and I think that's what I like about it, it kind of almost makes up for inability to class change in Aion, since your gameplay from group to group can change so much.
Thanks very much for the feedback you guys, I think I'm going to press on with Chanter for now and see how it goes.
Yesterday I flew out to 33 baluar camp in upper and saw an asmo cleric grinding, so I put up in my bazaar message "Cleric vs Cleric = gay and pointless, peace?" and he agreed lol. So we spent the next 45 mins or so fighting side by side and talking about movies through bazaar, 2012 and Zombieland and some other shit, was pretty cool haha. A couple Elyos came by eventually and chased him away though ; ;
