BSoDing and no idea what to do. Lol

I'll just start off the way I've made other tech threads - I'm in no way computer savvy, I just know the internet. not hardware, not software. I have my friends who are savvy with the technical areas work on my computer, but I can't get in touch with any of them.

So recently I got the BSoD with the error "KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR", person from another site showed me this and I have -no- idea what any of this shit is saying.

I'm seriously retarded when it comes to computers, no idea what the registry fixes or how to even use this memtest program I found through google. Just want to get this comp fixed or find out if it's just dead before I waste time trying to reformat.

PRoblem can be from HDD or RAM that might die soon

    1) Download this and burn it to a CD Hiren's Boot CD 10.0 and All Other Versions - HTTP Download

    2) boot with this CD and choose the option boot from CD

    3) In the Menu go to Ram Testing tools and choose memtest

    4) pass a full memtest. If everything goes no error pass to step 5 if you got errors do step 5 but note the error.

    5) Reboot PC with CD again and this time go to Hard Disk tools and choose the diagnostic program of your HArd disk.

    6) Do a full test of the hard drive.

    7) note the errors if there is and tell us result.

That is what i can tell you for now

Thanks, I'll try that and hopefully I'll be back considering this is the only computer I have access to at this moment.

Stupid... extremely stupid question, but what do you mean "boot from CD"? This an option when you hold F8? Like I said, retarded with comps. Also waiting on the DL and then I'll burn it.

    Oh and while I'm thinking about it.. I found a problem file but I can't delete it. Every time I try to - it says "Error 0x80070091: This file is not empty," but when I try to open the file it says it is corrupted or unreadable. Avast did the same thing and I can't even get rid of it with avast. Name of the file is;

"nssAE0D.tmp" And it was a hidden file inside of my windows.old folder from my last reformat.

    Directory was "USERS/myname/AppData/Local/Temp".

This just jumped into my mind thinking it might be a virus that isn't letting me get rid of it, hoping it'll be the problem and I won't have to do all this silly stuff. :/

Boot from CD means you go in Bios (depending on board it will be F1-F2-F10 or del)

90% of them is F10 or delete. Inside the menu go in boot order and put CD/dvd drive ahead of Hard disk

Okay, yea I finally figured it out and did all of those steps.. but then I got a wierd error during the last HDD test..

Passed the RAMtest with no errors as well. Anyways, it gave me this error:

    http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/8030/0917090026.jpg

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this error.. impossible to happen for me? I'm seriously confused right now, I'm pretty sure I have a HDD Lol

If you have no hard drive, you have no computer. Assuming you can get in windows it may be a hard drive issue. Your link says the person may have removed some registry files. Another common reason for blue screen of deaths in general is driver conflicts. I don't know if you installed any new hardware lately or not.

I have not, but what I did to was use TweakNow Registry cleaner, could that have deleted something it shouldn't have? Ever since then I haven't been able to view some images as well, images I was viewing just fine before that. Although, I haven't had any issues lately since I used it other then this and the image issues. Like I can't see my signature anymore and other signatures, nor my old avatar.

Basically what the other thread was saying is its possible that a registry cleaner removed something it shouldn't have.

But I have no idea what registries it removed that I could have -needed-, so that is my question. "Which registries did it remove that I would need?"

Also, I left it out in the first post, but the only times I'd get the BSoDs was during games, only 3 BSoDs, 2 were during games of HoN, 1 was during L4D. So I guess I can relate to his Oblivion errors, just did a game of HoN to see how it would go and it ran fine for about ~45 minutes I'd say.
