Bones - Season 5

Season 5 of Bones was supposed to start tonight, but the episode is already online. I thought it was a pretty good episode, not really what I'd expect from a season premier though.

I hope they get over the whole Booth identity crisis storyline soon. The scene where he tells Bones that he loves her (albeit in an "attagirl" kinda way) was cringeworthy...

Plus, can't stand the whole will they/won't they thing going on. Hopefully things will settle down and there'll be no more longing glances at each other.

They just finished shooting the 100th episode and had their highest ratings in over a year last week. February 4th will be the last episode until April 1st. The 100th episode will air on the 8th.

Freddy Krueger to Guest Star on 'Bones'

Okay, not Freddy Krueger exactly, but Robert Englund will guest star on an episode of Fox’s Bones. The slasher-themed episode sees Brennan (Emily Deschanel) forced to attend her high school reunion when a murder sends her and Booth (Angel’s David Boreanaz) to the scene. More after the break.

According to TV Guide Magazine, in a fun homage to his signature role, Englund will play a “creepy custodian” who works at the school. If I were Robert, I would avoid the boiler room. The episode is scheduled to air sometime in the spring.

Bones was up 3% from last week to a 3.6 adults 18-49 rating its highest rated show in over 2 years (11/6/07)

Next week's episode should draw in even more viewers as the Winter Finale. I'm wondering if they'll leave us with a cliff-hanger to ensure people pick it up after the break or just air it as a standalone ep.

best tribute to a fantastic show that fox has ever done.

Show still has value to me, only so much you can do with a premise of, "we're the 5 smartest forensic scientists in the WOOOOOORLD oogabooglooga watch us work and argue about bones"

The show has never been extremely focused but I think I know what you mean. The cases have always been an excuse to deliver the drama/comedy/romance of the characters but they've been a lot less subtle about it this season. I personally don't mind because there's a thousand other crime procedurals out there if I just want a good murder story.
