Help Running FFXI and Warcrat3 at same time!

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW 22 inch Flat screen monitor now, and when I run FFXI in the back ground then try to open Warcraft3 it always seems disconnects me from FFXI. Does anyone else has this problem or know of a fix? Before when I had a 19 inch Samsung monitor I had no problems running both at the same time. The video card I use is Radeon X1950 Series Video card, (it’s the same card I used for both monitiors).

afaik even with windows you cannot have another game as "main ground" while FFXi is open not to crash it

hmm How was I able to do with with the 19 monitor though? My friend use to always wondered how I got it to work bu he nor I knew exactly how I was doing it. it just worked lol.

FFXI will bitch and cry the moment even a resolution change is done, or anything that involves the screen blinking. Might be a bit tough unless you can get W3 to run in a window.

This. If you can get both games to run in a windowed mode (even full screen windowed mode) FFXI won't bitch. It's how I can run FFXI and Aion at the same time.

How do u run WC3 in a window? I did not do that last time i just alt tabed and went from one to the next. But if u can run it in a window can u tell me how?

I dont know if it work with W3 but

right click on the shortcut > proprieties and in the target add -w at the end

Sometimes FFXI wont complain if the additional game you want to play is the same fullscreen resolution as FFXI...but this is not always the case.

So run them in windowed mode if it doesn't work.

Windowed mode sucks for RTS games. Can't scroll around the map with your mouse because there is no hard edge on the window.

I can attest to Laverna running both as I have seen it with my own eyes.

I think it is related to the screen size, the 19 was a square screen and running at same resolution as FFXI didn't require resolution tweaks. The new monitor is widescreen which WC3 has to adjust for.
