Malcolm Jamal Werner, the guy playing Shirley's husband is most famous for playing Bill Cosby's son on the Cosby Show. Cosby was famous for the ridiculous sweaters he wore on the show. Hence, the joke is that Shirley's husband is really Theo Huxtable.

I've never played D&D before but this episode was just so engaging. Definitely up there with paintball and kfc as my favorite episode.
