Just watched one of the newer eps of Park & Recreation. Galentines Day.. got through about half of it. I think the writing is decent, but I think the actors/acting don't necessarily fit the situations as well as they could, so I didn't really find anything that funny. Maybe it's because I'm so accustomed to the Office, but when I picture the scenes being acted out by the Office characters, the scenes seem quite a bit funnier.

That Halloween episode and the Fievel episode are my favorites. Everything I've read indicates very strongly the show should get picked up, mostly citing better numbers than Parks & Rec which got renewed.


On the (somewhat passed) topic of Parks & Rec, I will admit I was against the show at first, but it's grown on me, some things just have to be given a chance.

I think you need to have watched this whole season, the characters behavior will become so much more obvious, its the same way anybody just getting thrown into the office will wonder why the fuck creed, dwight, andy, meredith etc are all so fucking insane.

Well, I started watching the Office in the middle of last season and I found it funny right away. But I'll try watching Parks & Recreation from the beginning when I have time. <_<

I would almost suggest starting with this season, season 1 almost turned me off of it

same is true of the office. It did not hit its stride until Season 2.

that's because season 1 was too much of a remake of the Brit version, if memory serves

Only the pilot was a real copy of the british version for understandable reasons, but it just took some time for it to hit its stride/establish a rapport for the non main characters. Which was the issue for Parks and Rec imo, cause outside of Mark/Amy Poehler/Rashida all the other characters needed to be fleshed out and given a purpose beyond the creation of the park. But Season 1 of the office did give us The healthcare episode, and alliance between jim/dwight which are still among the best episodes imo.
