I want that American Inspector Spacetime shirt he was wearing at the beginning.

If I had to wager a guess, I would think because if you know Chevy is leaving the show before being able to film the finale and have only had him used sparingly (without being central to the plot) in certain episodes until now it would be a lot easier to have him exit with his "footprint" in a whole lot of story lines without drama and cliffhangers attached to them.
They need to start pulling the trigger on this Changnesia arc pretty soon, they're running out of time quickly.
So. Is this season any good? Or can I stop watching after season 3 and be happy with that decision?
There have been a few episodes I haven't like (The Changesia documentary, the recruiting episode), but overall I've enjoyed this season. My biggest complaint is the whole Changnesia arc -- I feel Chang ran his course last season and there's not much left for him this season that won't just feel like "Oh Chang's just being insane again.."
Next weekend is a puppet episode -- looking forward to it!
This season has been really hit or miss in almost the exact opposite way that Hyan described. The most recent episode was the best so far, but not quite on par with most of the first three seasons. The other episodes in season 4 have been either total garbage (1st episode, Changnesia documentary) or just sort of alright.
This show has been on the decline since season 3. So yeah, it's may be the same as before (except it's not), but it's still getting worse.
All about expectations. I don't think a single episode from this season would even crack my top 20 favorites, but it's not terrible. Personally I don't think it has anything to do with Harmon or the lack thereof because I thought the last half of S3 was sub-par also.
Meh. The writing is about the same overall and, in some cases, has improved a lot.
The big difference, and I'm getting really tired of saying this, is in editing. Dan Harmon was really hands-on in the editing process, more than any other showrunner that I know of, and it is hard to recreate that style. The timing is off a lot but I think it has gotten better as the season progressed.
Eh, no more over the top than Evil Abed appearing to him and convincing him to try to cut off Jeff's arm. Or Jeff attacking the Study Room table with an axe because he was dosed with monkey gas.
From what I've heard the premiere and the finale suffered the worst in editing. Something like 7 minutes had to be cut from both episodes.
I haven't watched any episodes this season. All my free time has been devoted to working on the game room. I dvr'ed every episode so I'm going to end up having a mini marathon some weekend.
So if this was supposed to be the episode that aired at Christmas, does that mean Jeff is done with classes now and is graduated?
Decent timing for a Christmas episode. Live in Michigan, was 76 degrees on Weds and snowing while I was watching this episode.
Gonna call the finale now...
Spoiler: show
If they use the next 2 episodes to ramp up for it...could be a fitting finale.
If anything he's communicating with Evil Abed, he's the one determined to destroy the prime timeline.
Looks like the entire study group wants to destroy the prime timeline this time around.
That's because Evil Abed talked them into it, i wonder if they'll wear felt goatee's until they grow their own.
