Well, there's no Chevy Chase, Chang has been resolved, Jeff is graduated, everyone else is working towards graduation.. No matter what they do, trying to fit Jeff into any study group activities is going to be a stretch.
They didn't resolve whatever the dean of City College was plotting at the end of the 2nd to last episode though, for whatever that's worth..
As long as there is Troy and Abed I don't really care, plus they could do some "Franklin and Bash" like episodes with Jeff.
two giant scoops of salt, but http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/comm...on-return-too/
In a repeat from last year, NBC’s perennial bubble comedy Community just snagged a 13-episode renewal. There have been some significant changes on the show over the past 12 months though. When NBC renewed the show last May, it still had creator Dan Harmon as showrunner and Chevy Chase as co-star. Immediately after the upfronts, Harmon was replaced with David Guarascio and Moses Port. Then in November, Chase too departed. The bitter feud between Chase and Harmon was a major factor in destabilizating of the show for a couple of seasons, leading to public outbursts and profane voice messages. Now that Chase is gone, emotions have cooled down and all sides involved have had time to reflect, there is speculation that Harmon may come back, especially if this turns out to be Community‘s final chapter. (I’d heard that, with the show’s future at NBC in limbo, there were a number of suitors clamoring to pick up Community for a final installment.) There are no deals in place but I hear there certainly is interest in bringing Harmon back in some capacity.
See, and that's what I don't necessarily like about it staying with NBC. If they want Harmon back now, seemingly after damage has been done, just let NEtflix or Adult Swim pick it up for 2 13 episode seasons and call it a day. NBC gets a programming spot back without half-assing it to a comedy they don't seem to really want, Harmon gets to carry his project to term, and the fans hopefully get a halfway decent show back with stable ratings.
Now that there are "rumors" of Harmon coming back, NBC almost has to do it or else it will just further stigmatize what the last 2 episodes were.
But the show is fine with or without Harmon.
lol, hipsters.
The only thing I miss from seasons 1-3 is Chase being racist.
Is that the Harmon magic or am I just not getting it.
So, is Chase coming back to the show or is he just gone now? I really liked his Character, I don't want to see him go D:
I think (probably earlier in this thread) there was some stuff about how he always thought this show was beneath him and hated it, so I'm guessing he's done with it. It felt like he was a major part of less than half the episodes this season.
It's funny that Community is beneath him but those stupid clothing commercials with the kids from all the Vacation movies aren't.
Yeah, I'll miss Pierce but I'll be glad Chase is gone. Things were so hostile between him and the cast/crew that they scheduled shooting to keep them apart as much as possible.
I'll also admit that he didn't have the best material this season but that is what happens when the writers don't know if an actor will or will not be available from day to day.
What was the issue with Chevy exactly? I keep hearing about it but I don't think I've ever known specifically what the problems were or what he was doing.
I think he just hated the show and was a giant douche about it.
The example I read recently was from digital estate planning (the video game episode) -- they had a last scene between him and Abed they wanted to film that was supposed to be really emotional and help repair Pierce's image, but it was the last day of filming and he pretty much said he was done so they couldn't film it.
According to Dan Harmon, Sony forced Chevy Chase to be on the show from the get go. Harmon didn't won't him on it and they fought. So right from the get go Chase was on a show that the creator didn't want him on, it created a toxic environment.
The last season Chase dropped the n-bomb, and quit before it all wraped up.
Now that Chase left it looks like Harmon is coming back.
I WANT TO BELIEVE
