It made fun of shows like The Mentalist, Hannibal, Monk and the movies se7en, Zodiac and David Fincher in general. Also it's a call back to season 2 presidential campaign for school where annie says "I promise to bring the ass crack bandit to justice"

Also references the gag reel from some random season with joel's high buttcrack iirc.

You didn't really need to get the references for it to be funny though... cuz it was hilarious

Ive always liked the idea of Jeff and Britta ending up together. As for the Jeff/Annie thing, it was cute at first, now, not so much.
Maybe an Abed, Annie and Rachel love triangle? LOL
Or how about bringing back Simmons and exploring the Annie/Simmons relationship. Anyone but Jeff.

I'm actually surprised Rachel hasn't been mentioned yet.. I was originally expecting her to have a role for the first few episodes and then become Abed's replacement for Troy, but since she hasn't showed up yet, I'm wondering if she's been written off completely. Would be unfortunate -- consider her to be one of the good things to come out of that last season..

That was legit the hardest I've laughed at a TV show in a long time. The entire Pierce's sperm bit was just tremendous. Dan Harmon is really something magical.

I don't know exactly what it was, but Shirley was the stand out for me. All of her lines just hit the right comedic point and had me laughing every time she opened her mouth.

Also sperm.

I felt it was one of those "the group is incredibly dysfunctional, but here's Jeff with a rousing speech to tie it all up and make everything better" episodes till the end. Then it was a great Pierce episode that hinted at what could have been. I will say, I didn't like how they took a jab at Donald Glover with the whole money thing. Maybe it's just that I haven't read that he's leaving over money, but that part was kinda questionable.

Also, the sperm was great.
