I don't know, let's see how our movie does! Isn't that our plan? There's no way we're not making the movie now! I think once we make the movie, let's look up and decide how much more Community the world wants. We promised six seasons and a movie, how much more do you want?! Shirley, Community fans are going to be disappointed with this news. But alas, it's true: Yvette Nicole Brown is departing the fan favorite comedy after five seasons.

The actress says the change was necessary in order to take care of her ailing father. "My dad needs daily care and he needs me," Brown says. "The idea of being away 16 hours a day for five months, I couldn't do it. It was a difficult decision for me to make, but I had to choose my dad."

You can't fault her for this decision, but man that's bad news for the show. The original group is down to four.

Honestly I found Shirley to be the most replaceable of the entire group.

Eh, donglover was the least replacable and Yvette the most. I feel like the writers had no idea what to do with her the vast majority of the time and she always came off feeling out of place and, frankly, useless.

The two new characters they teased seemed like they could be interesting. The casting had, for the most part, been very good. Hopefully they can keep that up.

Sixth season will premiere: March 17, on the world’s few remaining screens that aren’t exclusively devoted to MeowMeowBeenz. Two episodes of the show will debut on Yahoo Screen that day, with one new episode per week rolling out on the Tuesdays that follow. “Maybe old-school is the best school,” showrunner Dan Harmon told the TV press, in reference to the season’s traditional scheduling.

Further details emerged about characters played by Paget Brewster and Keith David, who are, respectively, a “problem solver” and a “computer programmer who wasted a lot of time on on VR technology in the ’90s.” The departure of Yvette Nicole Brown’s Shirley, meanwhile, will be explained in the season premiere—hopefully without the use of holograms—and Brown is still “absolutely” welcome to drop by Greendale Community College, which is now located on the floor below where Parks And Recreation used to shoot at CBS Studio Center. “After years of it being figuratively the case, we are now literally underneath Parks And Rec,” Harmon said.
