They only hosted the game so I assume he was just a hired Merc. He was definitely in the room since Annie and Abed got hit with silver.

Uh no. I knew it was him immediately once the opening credits rolled just because he has such a distinct lisp in his voice. I had just watched Silicon Valley where he is a character and I was like oh that sounds familiar it must be him. Dunno why he wasn't using silver maybe he just grabbed one of the guns that was at the event from somebody else.
