my dad is a freelance artist, when he was younger they called him Ronnie lol

over the years, despite absolutely zero post high school education (if he even finished that, he partook in plus de drugs) he taught himself how to work with gold leaf, foams of all densities and weather requirements, wood & carving, metal & welding and of couse painting

freelance work and the highs and absolute absences (lows does not do justice how little money the man can have at times) of not having a steady employer to rely on has forever scared me away from working for myself but I respect how much he has learned and been resolute in what he has done

his hometown has a heritage requirement on all new signs, so his hand crafter, hand carved 3D signs which have an older look, thus keeping the small town small, and the main street having all the best stores with his signs on the front. I'm always very proud to see them and show them off to people who are seeing them for the first time

he's had quite a lot of luck with ladies, which never bothered me since my parents split when I was 5, and also because of this I've come to view him as more of an older brother figure

so: who is your daddy?

My dad's a very successful MD of a food manufacturing company that he helped to build from a crappy little business his friend ran that was going broke to a business that provides high quality food to many different levels of food industry, from in-flight meals to top ranking chefs to fast food to supermarkets. His is one of the few Australian owned and run companies that has the balls to stand up to the big companies like Kraft and Masterfoods because they actually have much better products that are better in tune to what Australians want (and also they are still smallish enough that they can do highly customised stuff in small runs for top chefs like Tetsuya, Neil Perry, etc.).

I'm really proud of my dad even though he's sometimes far too conservative for my liberal minded-ness, but he's a decent human being and has always supported me and my siblings greatly in everything we've done. Also he (and my mum!) brought up 4 decent kids so there's something in that too

I miss him, but I'll get to see him in a month or so.

My dad never really had a successful job because he dropped out of college to tour with the band he was playing in at the time. But he is one of the most awesomest people I've ever known and I miss living near him.

My mom is a bitch 90% of the time and I am glad to be living a few hours from her. I don't know how those two personalities have been married for this long.

My dad is the most promiscuous man i have ever met. He and my mom divorced a long time ago and I have seen that man pull more young ass than i can ever imagine. I dont have near his amount of game, but I dont really care to.

Mine dropped out of law school because he was lazy and after many failed ventures (being fired as a bartender, teacher, among other things), he's now a stagehand with some really random connections to celebrities and public icons.

Other than that, he's a drunk and compulsive gambler and rather worthless as a parental figure.
