Anyway, if they are going in the way of flushing out the bullshit from S2 and S3, I'm just going to get more confused. Yeah, it was very inconsistent writing in both seasons, but... it's still part of the show and story. Obviously there were some huge continuity problems with the writing that should never happen unless it's a gimmick in the show, which it's starting to look like with the butterfly effect constantly. But, doing that could be a way for the writer's to fix their mistakes and change the story to how it should be -- might be pretty far-fetched though.


I guess to understand the frustration and disgust with the continuity of this series I should've watched it when it first started as opposed to marathoning it between semesters. Less time invested into the show considering I didn't have to wait a week between episodes; having to do it this season has been killing me.

I'd actually kind of enjoy if that happened, really. The last episode essentially being the first episode of season 1, showing that despite Hiro's abilities nothing can really be changed. Would be a very nice, poetic way to end the show. That, or have it actually turn out that despite what Hiro did, the bomb/Peter ended up destroying New York and the first future we were shown is what actually happens. I truly wanted to see that happen, I think Heroes would have been pretty interesting in that atmosphere, but maybe a bit too cliche of a superhero drama...?

No, they haven't. I don't remember exactly what scene you're referring to, but I know that Sylar did the same thing at the end of season one, after getting owned in Kirby Plaza.

EDIT: I guess this is the answer to the season one question, still unsure of which scene you're talking about, though.

In a Q&A session, writers Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite said emphatically that "Sylar did not turn into a cockroach" at the end of the season finale. They also suggested that it was symbolism that Sylar is like a human cockroach —- he's darn near impossible to completely get rid of.

Speaking of things they still haven't explained... there's still the scene where Danko is in his car, Sylar starts talking from the backseat, then the next second Sylar's up on a rooftop in the rain. WTF.

Unfortunately for the audience, Peter just HAD to have that goddamn healing ability when Parkman finally bites it... Fucking hell.

I guess we can make an addendum to Sylar's (original) power. It would seem that understanding the abilities is only part of it; the other part is actually integrating it. Otherwise, Sylar's mind should have access to all of the abilities that Sylar "Knows". Furthermore, Gabriel-as-Nathan WOULDN'T have access to those powers, so I guess his abilities are simply stored in his body not his mind. I don't know why, but I feel a bit let down that it isn't purely mental.

...Unless of course, Sylar starts thinking the same thing and in the next episode, Parkman miraculously has Self-Healing and comes back to life on the autopsy table (The copy I downloaded didn't have the preview, but Eticket's comment seemed to suggest a recovery).

They pointed out in S1/S2 that its all in the DNA, so the powers would be stored in the body, it just takes the mind to be the key to using them. I suppose maybe that means when Sylar/oldPeter learns a new ability he 'reconfigures' himself?

The preview showed Peter saving Parkman and the camera pans a bit and you see Sylar. I think there was something before it but I don't remember.

Side question: If the Haitan is around, can Claire die? Or at least I guess stay dead until he leaves, like when she had the stick in her head.

Yes. Future Peter died in an episode in volume 3 because he got shot when the Haitian was around.

It's not known yet. Obviously he's evil enough to just randomly kill buildings full of people that insult him or piss him off though.

Sylar/Matt eat's Nathan... But honestly, don't know how Sylar can get back into his body unless Matt is willing to do so. Cause they have alrdy shown how Sylar can't control Matt's power. I like Nathan though, hasnt been anough of him this season

But, most of the show has been telling us that the power is from DNA and "Evaluation" such as X-Men. So how could it be mental?
