Million Dollar Baby is one huge flashback. It's basically Family Guy!
Million Dollar Baby is one huge flashback. It's basically Family Guy!
The flashbacks are atleast in line with the story, unlike Family Guy where they are just random.
The whole fucking show is technically a flashback, more Family Guy than Family Guy.
NPH is amazing, can't wait for this episode.
Lol I loved that song! NPH is so amazing, any project he is in I will totally watch.
About the flashbacks, just because you use a flashback doesn't make something similar to FG. Flashbacks have been used in tons of movies and shows in varying ways. FG's flashes barely constitute a flashback at all, it's usually just Peter randomly saying "like that time xxx happened?" and it flashes to something completely unrelated to the episode where something really random happens. Not the same thing at all as a show that uses flashbacks to tell it's entire story. Because you know, Family guy has no plot ever really.

The creators of How I Met Your Mother are doing just fine, thank you. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have signed a new deal with 20th Century Fox TV, who produce HIMYM, says the Hollywood Reporter, which will keep them with the CBS comedy for quite awhile – while also potentially leading to a new series.
The new deal keeps Bays and Thomas with 20th for the next three years, and commits them as showrunners on How I Met Your Mother for that entire time – which would be through Season 8, should CBS renew the series that long. Meanwhile, the two will also develop new projects.
The first potential project is a comedy script the two wrote with Mother writers Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly. The Reporter says that the script focuses on a young couple (along with their friends), and is set in Pittsburgh – evoking HIMYM's Lily and Marshall.
Thomas and Bays don't deny the similarities, with Thomas telling the Reporter, "HIMYM is about people in their late 20s and early 30s going through that second wave of growing up, and the ups and downs and the humor of that. This is a logical extension."
"The new show is similar tonally to HIMYM and investigates the next chapter, the next stage of adulthood," says Bays." The script will soon be shopped to networks.
Update: It's a good day for Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. Variety reports that CBS has now renewed How I Met Your Mother for Season 6.
COOK POO!
*has the maturity of a 6-year old*
At first that mistake seemed in character for Ted, since he's such a douche and thinks he's more clever than he is, but I think everyone else's reaction was unbelievable to it, and then the final clip at the end was just wtf in every possible way.
Otherwise, I really liked this episode, rarely get to see Barney's human side, even if it is almost all done metaphorically.
I know someone named Peter Richard Johnson, and he never hears the end of it. fwiw
I seriously know someone named "Amanda Dumey" damn funniest name choice ever.
friend of mine knows a Roland Alexander Doobey, or Roland A Doobey
Sorry for the necro but I just got caught up on this show and...
Did anyone else feel that the show got weaker in Season 4.5-5? The characters have become caricatures of themselves(only way I know how to explain it). It's still hilarious and I still love the characters but it's lost a lot of its original charm. Hopefully they tone it down some in S6.
This season has been weak for sure. I don't think the show was ever great but for a laugh track style comedy it was pretty good.
Use to love this show, this season has been meh-tastic, only been a couple of even decent episodes. Modern Family has killed it for me. I use to love Marshall & Lily and they have gone beyond dull now, Robin and Ted are both barely there and even Barney has failed to deliver this season.
yeah, it has been pretty meh overall which is disappointing, but Community and Modern Family are both doing pretty good on the humorous front
There has been a lot of filler recently. Only decent episode that was recent was the Home Wreckers one, especially loved the shot of the home improvement happening to the house, and the background being set up to show it's where narrator Ted has been telling the story to his kids.
I think they just need to go ahead and announce the end the show if they are running out of good stories to tell. Every now and then something is good (like the Home Wreckers episode, the "Drunk or Kid" game, etc), but lately some of the episodes seem to serve no purpose, like the Marshall getting mugged by a monkey one.
recent episode twin beds, was one of the better episodes of the season.
Yeah.. was a pretty amazing episode as far as HIMYM goes.
