and whoever called who the red queen was, props. I would of never expected, I thought it was going to be Chloe.

Great episode, great mix between serious/funny/advancing story line etc etc.
Perry White is the future editor in chief of the Daily Planet. He was in a season 3 episode called "Perry" I think. He was a drunk at the time, and thought he figured out Clark's secret (which he did) but Clark passed it off as Perry being drunk. There was an accident at the end of the episode where Perry falls over a cliff and Clark hammed it up acting like he couldn't save him by himself. Or something like that. Was a long time ago, don't remember all the details. I know at the end of the episode he gets on a bus and promises to sober up.

Clark actually couldn't save him at the time. There were solar flares coming off the sun that were causing havoc for Clark's powers which was how Perry discovered them in the first place. When Perry fell over the cliff Clark's powers were currently out and his hands started to bleed as he pulled Perry back up with the rope.

Oh is that the episode where Clark tossed the tractor like 100 miles? That's how he ended up meeting him I think. Sooooooo long ago!

Yeah the tractor landed right next to Perry as he was leaving Smallville empty handed and then Clark came zooming up to it.

While she may be the strongest person to fight Zod's army, there is also Blue Kryptonite to consider for our heroes lol.

I really love where they're taking things, only one thing that bothered me:
    Spoiler: show
How did Marta Kent get so tough/agile/badass? I mean, in the wine cellar scene she was gone in like a second, with high heels.

Based on a comic, I know...but it just bothered me for some reason. :/ Like she was always such a "lame" character and now she's like all superhero...iono.

    Called it.

I instantly thought Martha Kent since she's the original ginger on the show, and a senator now~~!

Oh, I was actually agreeing with you as sort of a revelation to me, more like "wow, never thought of it in that way before but makes sense."

I didn't like the part where the agent died? through the phone and Tess taking credit. I know that Martha probably wouldn't go that far, killing people, but idk, seemed unnecessary. Maybe it was to keep the ruse of a bad-ass checkmate leader killing people who failed, but then have Tess take credit to keep Martha's "good" image. meh, weak detail

Okay, holy shit. Wow. That was a phenominal ending to the season. I really love this show so much the past 2 seasons. I can't believe I almost gave up on it a few years ago. With the ending I was so waiting for someone to come do a "flyby" if you know what I mean. I was also hoping for a bit more action out of some of the other characters. Like an all out war. I'm still happy with the direction they took though. Very pumped for season 10, and I really hope it is not the last, though I somewhat expect it to be.

Heavy finale spoilers. Don't click if you haven't seen it.

    Spoiler: show
Was a pretty awesome finale, though making it human versus human final fight there at the end was a little.. eh. I wanted some super power fighting games.

Clark falling to his doom.. god damnit, if he doesn't fly, Imma be pissed. Glad for the reveal to Lois too.

All in all.. a pretty good finale.

Well, I didn't think my "spoilers" were bad by giving anything away, but I see why you spoilered them. Anyway...

    Spoiler: show
I'm glad they didn't do the typical Smallville finale where Clark gets banished to some world or another and actually uses his head with Zod. That being said, who's the villain going to be in Season 10 with Zod (seemingly) out of the picture? I was just starting to warm up to Callum Blue as the super powered Zod and they take him away. I'm sure he will be back, as I haven't hear he was leaving the show, just curious. As far as Clark falling, I was honestly expecting Hawkman to come by and scoop him up. Well half expecting anyway. Since this is spoilered, is anyone else a little diasappointed we didn't get to see any of the Justice League in action? I think that is my only very minor gripe with the episode. OH and Martha giving Clark the Superman outfit??? /dies

I also LOVED LOVED LOVED the dream Clark was having in the beginning, with him as Superman and Lois as the head reporter. It goes to show they could do even MORE with the show if they wanted to. I can't imagine Tom Welling wants to be Superman for the rest of his life, but come on! Such a great tease.

Well, it wasn't me that spoiled yours and it didn't seem that bad to me at all either, but I guess just to be safe and what not. No biggy.

Anyway, spoilers, no clicking if you haven't seen it:
    Spoiler: show
Well I do admit I'm glad they didn't do some super slow mo (there was slow mo, but it wasn't terrible) superpowered fight that bordered absurdity.

As far as villain.. work with me on this, but I think maybe Darkseid? That 'knitting woman' sorda reminded me of Granny Goodness, Darkseid's right hand..woman? Lol. That and they've been talking about the coming apocalypse, and all that. That and the things seemingly attacking Green Arrow. Just my guess.

I'm a little disappointed with the lack of JLA, but eh. We got a little so that's okay. Martha giving Clark the glorious red/blue suit was just awesome, and yeah.. the little bit of Clark and Lois, possibly a couple years into the future, was pretty cool. Seems like Lois definitely knows "The Blur" is Clark, if the kiss at the end didn't give it away.

Honestly with the bag/knitting lady, I thought it was Red Queen. They foced on the red part of the bag, and there was something else that was red, I think her bandana had a hint of red as well. Obviously they could only get Annette O Toole for 1 episode, so they did the thing they did with Lex last year. Cleverly cover the character up as much as they can without showing her face. Maybe Martha realized that Tess went to go help Clark, and in return saves her life? So down the line Tess will owe the Red Queen a favor? I have no clue. I don't know enough about DC comics to take any other educated guesses otherwise.

The slow mo wasn't nearly as overused as it was in the episode Checkmate. That was just annoying. It's bad enough we have to see it in every damn movie. I didn't mind it too much for the punches they threw. Gives the punches more of a powerful look I guess. Nice to see Clark using his brain though, and finding a loopholish kinda thing to stay on Earth.

Darkseid I know though is one of Superman's most powerful villains, and I'm not sure I could see it working, though I didn't see Doomsday working a 2 years ago, and I ended up really enjoying that storyline. I guess the only thing to do is wait. This season is my favorite though by far. Last season is my 2nd favorite. This years only had one REALLY bad episode (Persuasion) and a couple of okayish ones. Other than that, I was very happy with the show as a whole.

As I said to my friend earlier in the week, it's nice to see them following up with storylines in the same season instead of indtroducing something then forgetting it (33.3 immediately comes to mind) and following through on the arcing story comics have. Gonna be a long wait til season 10!

Yeah, I thought maybe it was the Red Queen, but I doubt they'd really force powers onto her or something like that, so I went with the Granny Goodness route. Either could be right though, I dunno.

And yeah, this season was probably the best. There was a time there a few years ago where the series just went through the angst-train and was quite terrible. I really think it got better when Lana left for good. Now when Clark goes all , it's not too terrible. That and his chemistry with the actress who plays Lois is just really good.
