Eh, I can't complain about this year. It's my favorite season in a long time. The chemistry Erica Durance and Tom Welling have is really good, and I enjoy the darker tone a lot of the episodes are taking. I really hope they continue down this path and go into a 10th and final season.

So far.. I'm actually enjoying this somewhat. First up.. closing the book on Lana ftmfw. The Zombie episode scared the shit out of me. As said above, Erica Durance and Tom Welling really do have great on screen chemistry. Better than whatsherface who played Lana imo. Mainly because Lois doesn't really look down on herself and act all meek and shit like Lana did early on and for most of her time.

Either way, I enjoyed the Oliver bits here. Certainly a tough time he's having. Oh well, loving the "Clois" bits in this season and that vision of what may come? Totally awesome. Curse you Smallville for making me enjoy you a little bit.

slowest. dialogue. [insert dramatic pause] ever.

Did, however, enjoy the episode. I loved the Joker-tactic of that first bomber triggerman.
    Spoiler: show
I knew Tess had an alternative motive, but I thought she'd ask him for help with finding Zod and crew. Seeing Lex's reflection in the window reminded me of Nathan/Sylar lol, but I doubt Lex is infact in Oliver's body.

IGN: Exclusive: Two of Smallville's Justice Society
October 19, 2009 - We've known since this summer that the Justice Society would be coming to Smallville, in an episode written by comic book writer Geoff Johns, but so far the exact characters who would be part of the team were not revealed.

IGN TV has now exclusively learned the names of two of the Justice Society members we'll be meeting on the series - and the actors who have just been cast to play them.

As it turns out, Hawkman and Doctor Fate will both be part of the Smallville incarnation of the Justice Society. This goes hand in hand with DC Comics, where both characters have notable histories with the team and its various incarnations, dating back to the 1940s.

Playing Hawkman will be an actor who brings his own notable sci-fi following to the role. Michael Shanks, who has recently been appearing on Burn Notice, but is best known as Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, will portray the classic DC hero.

    - DC Comics/Syfy
Michael Shanks (seen here in a Eureka guest appearance) will take flight as Hawkman

Doctor Fate will be played by Brent Stait, who had an ongoing role on Andromeda as Rev Bem. Stait also has experience in the Stargate world, having appeared on SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, along with the direct-to-DVD movie Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods.

Geoff Johns recently wrote on Twitter that the third member of the Justice Society was "A girl. Who likes stars," which all but ensures it's Courtney Whitmore, AKA Stargirl. Hawkman's presence in the Johns-penned episode is a bit amusing, as it was Johns who recently killed that character in the pages of DC Comics.

Look for the Smallville episode "Society" to air in January.

Update: Fancast confirms that the third JSA member on Smallville is Stargirl, and has the info on who will be playing her - Britt Irvin (Aliens in America).
    woohoo Daniel Jackson

Well he's been off the superhero beat for awhile. Hawkman could have lost some of the buffness

I dunno, Shanks looked pretty fit the last time I watched Stargate (uh, like the last few seasons a couple of years ago) so maybe he might have bulked up again if he lost it.

the JSA was a precursor to the JLA, actually the first superhero group ever. As for Dr. Fate Doctor Fate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia he is awesome.

There is a part of that wiki titled "Powers and Abilities"...

    Powers and abilities

Doctor Fate possesses a variety of mystical powers. In general, even without wearing the Helmet of Nabu, the host can fly, is highly resistant to injury, has minor telekinesis, and has greater-than-human strength.
In all of his incarnations, Doctor Fate is an accomplished sorcerer, and at his most potent able to match most other wizards in the DC Universe.
In various incarnations, Fate can emit bolts of mystical energy, teleport across the universe, craft solid objects out of energy, and transform objects into other kinds of matter (transmutation). Prior to the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, he could travel between alternate Earths at will, one of a very few DC characters with this capability. The full limits of his magical skills are unknown, and have varied greatly from one incarnation to the next as well as depending on the needs of the story. For example, in Swamp Thing (vol. 2) #50 (July 1986), he slays the demon Abnegazar of the Demons Three with very little effort. Conversely in Justice League of America (vol. 1) #148 (November 1977), the Demons Three control him and set him against his fellow heroes.
At the known height of his abilities, he was able to take control of Etrigan the Demon, Darkseid, Highfather and Orion and harness their powers to take on the Anti-Life entity. In this instance, he was powerful enough to destroy a reality in order to halt the advance of the entity using a "Mystic Firebreak". He has also been on the losing side of drawn out battles with the Spectre, as evidenced in the Day of Vengeance limited series.

    Helmet of Nabu

The helmet that Doctor Fate wears is the focus of the Doctor Fate identity. It originally housed Nabu's spirit and allowed him to possess the current host, it later only allowed him to advise the host instead. The helmet is what provides the link to Nabu and by not wearing it, as Kent Nelson did at one time, Doctor Fate loses much of its power and knowledge.
Putting on the helmet usually results in its wearer being clad in the other raiments of Doctor Fate, unless the one with the actual claim to the helmet wants to prevent it. On several occasions, villains seeking the power of Doctor Fate have stolen the helmet, in which case the result has typically been that the thief goes insane when he or she puts the helmet on.
At one time a half-face version of the helm was created when Kent felt the Nabu entity had become too dominant.[citation needed]

    Amulet of Anubis

The circular device that adorns the livery collar worn around Doctor Fate's chest and shoulders is the Amulet of Anubis, which gives anyone who wears it vast magical abilities. The amulet has also been shown to house the souls of many who have worn the vestments of Fate.[citation needed] In JSA,[volume & issue needed] the amulet contained the image of a farmhouse with the souls of Kent and Inza Nelson, Eric and Linda Strauss, Jared Stevens and Kid Eternity inhabiting it. This dimension was used more than once as a refuge for the JSA to regroup in battle or access the advice of previous Doctor Fates.[citation needed] The villain Mordru was imprisoned in this dimension for some time.

Was pretty awesome early on, now a few things "can't be affected by magic" or some shit, plus he stopped being as active and lived in a tower boning his wife for a long time later in the series.

As soon as Clark got his mind reading ability all I could think about was how the writers must be reading the BG forums. Someone was saying they liked the first 4 seasons because it was about Clarks new powers emerging and learning to use them, and then bam, mind reading appears.
