Text game part of tonight's episode was epic. I knew all of those spots and commands, he was playing Zork 1. Great game.

That was my first thought, that Sheldon, when he isn't saying super smart stuff, is usually acting like a child. He's funny, but I honestly feel the combination of him and Penny are sort of holding the show back. I like Sheldon, he is funny, but the two of them just make the show so unfocused. I like it so much better when the humor gets spread around.

And some want the idea of a Sheldon/Penny couple. Here's my thoughts. The Sheldon/Penny thing will happen when the show's about to die, and it'll be a last ditch effort to save the show which will fall flat. I like the show decently..but I can't stand Penny's actress.

I'm completely opposite. My favourite parts are the Sheldon and Penny bits. I can't stand Howard, he's annoying. Raj is funny, and Leonard is just a straight man.

I think that the show is heading into that bit of sitcom life cycle where the characters become caricatures of themselves. If it pulls out of it this, it'll be a great show again. If it doesn't, it'll get bad and get cancelled.

My biggest beef with the show is that the four nerd guys are much cooler than the nerds that I know. Not a single one of them is fat. None of them wear sweatpants. None of them have huge anime DVD collections.

It seems to me the writers tried to spread out all the nerdiness in the world across four dudes but keep them in trendy clothing. They're always referencing these random things that only a hardcore nerd in that particular area would get into.

To prove my own nerdiness, I think 'Genshiken' did a much better job of a group of nerds.

Sheldon & Penny are always funny when they're paired off to do something, i don't get all the penny hate at all.

Leonard can get a bit annoying at times when hes moping around and whining he's not got a girlfriend, Howard can also get annoying, but hes mainly there for the jew jokes. Raj is always a funny character and i enjoy him mainly when hes paired off with sheldon like a few weeks ago.

The way they have written BBT is that they arn't anime nerds, but they are science nerds in all branches of the term science, math physics and sci-fi and such,they also have huge comic book collections too which can seem a bit nerdy.

Honestly the love plotlines feel out of place to me in BBT. Not like, Penny and Leonard's romance, but they seem to be trying REALLY hard to put romance into the show. It honestly looks like a tryhard effort to me, and the show doesn't even NEED that. People started watching BBT because of the geeks' personalities. Their lingo, hobbies and the way they play into nerd stereotypes is hilarious. Nowhere else can you find a show where this much advanced science terminology gets thrown around on such a regular basis, and that attracts certain people too. What feels out of place to me is the desperate-looking attempts at romance they try to cram in when it's honestly not funny, the worst of which in my opinion has been in this season.

Sheldon's interaction with Amy is really funny because she's a funny character, but we only really need one Sheldon. Howard's rekindled 'romance' with his gf is okay, but the episode where they spent the last 5 minutes making out made me cringe, despite the funny cameos in the scene. Leonard's forced-looking 'blind date' in a recent episode was stupid too. I don't really understand why BBT's writers seem to think that the geeky guys NEED girlfriends. That's the biggest hangup I guess I have; most geeks I know aren't desperate to be with women, not because they think they can't land any, but because they don't really think it's that important (compared to like, going to comic-con or something). The show should just go back to focusing on the friends' interactions with each other and plotlines that DON'T involve getting with girls, those are the funniest episodes.

I disagree. To this day, one of my favorite episodes is when Raj got Sheldon to go to a mixer, and he brought the Green Lantern lantern. Also, I just can't ever envision Sheldon and Penny getting together. I think the series ends on Leonard and Penny marrying a la "Family Matters", and Sheldon getting a Nobel Prize or some shit.

Even if she is similar to Sheldon, her character is far less believable imo. She usually annoys me more than make me laugh.

That kind of thing is fine honestly, because they're still introducing the geek element, which is the point of the show. It also made a point that girls CAN be attracted to people who have...deviant interests. It's fine if they have romance without turning it into a show ABOUT romance, which seems like what they've been trying to do lately, to my dismay. Every episode in the new season has been about the major characters hooking up with someone. It's really untrue to the original spirit of the show and has been starting to lose my interest, which makes me incredibly sad because I love this show (when it's good).

The whole deal with the hook-ups is because they are very unnatural in any sense of social normality, Sheldon & Amy are very funny together because they are so like eachother in the fact that they discussed having a kid without even kissing which is how you would probably expect people who behave in such a way. Howard and Bernadette are very akward together as well which can be funny but tiresome as well. The show isn't turning into a rom-com its still a comedy which occasionally features the humor involved from the stereotypical social akwardness we expect from people who have no social skills.

they have contracts for up to season 7, but that doesn't mean it will go that long
