Video Card Sale : Radeon 4870X2 2GBMem Sapphire Tech

Looking to sell this video card off considering I'm having bad luck with it for some reason. Having sent the video card in 2X to be "replaced" and for some reason the new video card will not work with my PC, so this third time return I'm looking to not even try and just sell it if possible.

    Detailed product Information
    Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100251SR Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2) GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Card status : brand New replacement from sapphire tech
Items included : cable adapter to plug 2X power sources to the video card,
    VGA/DMI converter connector
    (no box etc)
Does not have installation CD (you download catalyst 9.9 from ati website)

Looking to sell the video card for $225 considering atm its hasn't been used/brand new as I just got it back again.

----------------- Please read the notes below before buying this!

Please note you WILL NEED, a 600w or higher (especially if you have alot of stuff in your PC) power supply to run this video card, without one, the video will not work (blank screen). If you are unsure how much power your PC has don't buy/try it.

This video card is very large, if you have a mini tower/small case, don't buy it, you need a mid/high tower to be able to fit this (almost the size of 2 soda cans stacked ontop each other)

This video card is very hot, make sure you have adequate case ventilation/video card cooler (infact you will want a video card cooler to make sure this video card operates properly when playing games on high settings)

This is a PCI-E 2 .0 Video card, it will not fit in a AGP slot or PCI

Any other questions PM me or post a reply here.

Maybe someone else will have better luck with it then me ;/

edit : changed price to lower to match ATI's recent price cut

The 4870x2 is a dual GPU card, the 4890 is a single GPU.

Yeah as mentioned this is a "dual gpu" (aka 2 video cards in 1) only thing faster then it atm would be a 4890 X2

The only thing that will be close/same coming out is a radeon 5870
    (estimated prices) DATE:2009-09-04
    # Radeon HD 5870 - > $379-399;
    # Radeon HD 5870 X2 - > $599.

Well, don't forget the Nvidia side of things. Most people have conceded that the 295 beats the 4870x2 in most situations by this point.

But yeah, this is a fucking fantastic deal, and if I hadn't just put together a computer late last year I'd be all over it. I spent the same amount on a 4870 512MB, I'd love for one of these.

I hope so for nvidia 295 video card averaging $480+

Few notes, the video card weight is about 3lbs, shipping in USA only. its about $6 (which I'll pay for)
The video card came from sapphire RMA department and "is tested to work before leaving their RMA department". I've not removed it from its antistatic package, so its basically untouched/brand new.

Please read all the notes above in red, if you do not meet the requirements for the video card, it will most likely not work in your PC (or fit in it for that matter)

I think this may help as numerous cards are compared. The x2 definitely holds it own.

Personally, if I wasn't waiting on 5870 right now to be available. I would have bought this from Gulkeva.
As numerous above posters, the 4870x2 is pretty much a monster.
I don't know how it will handle FFXIV(hopefully FFXIV will utilize the GPU more then the CPU.) But I would assume safely, yes. The i7 helps this out even more.

yeah the 5870 X2 is what I'm going for in the future (maybe) waiting to see what nvidia comes out with by the time 5870 X2 is out. I'm guessing it'll be around $550-$650+ when the 5870 X2 does come out.

Still selling video card btw, last few buyers "said" they were looking to buy, but didn't respond much after that ;/

Still selling for $225 brand new/unused (according to sapphire tech RMA "replacement") sealed in its anti static bag still.

One more tech related point - keep in mind that the video card memory lowers your system memory available for programs, which can throttle your performance. If you have a 64-bit OS and 4gigs, this card will probably get you down to about 1.5gigs of memory available once all your system resources are allocated. A 32-bit OS will put you even deeper in the hole.

That is quite wrong olo401. In a 64 bit environment all of that memory will be addressed no problem.
