I want to give my ranger the youthful voice because it's awesome in JP, but afraid a future patch may own the JP language and then I'm gonna be stuck w/ the worst voice in the game... Oh, but you can now change the in-game spoken language to French and stuff, or is that just for written text?

As much of a pain in the ass it may seem, just wait a day (or even a few hrs) for stuff to balance out. The last thing I want to see is a repeat of WAR where every server was like 2:1 or even more imbalanced

Heh to be fair the demons are more like his "friends" in this, which is just ridiculous in the SMT universe where you usually rely on demons as your source of power but Hitoshura himself IS a demon, he's godly.

So I went back and made a few changes to him, I never noticed his eyes were yellow so I added that for accuracy.

NCsoft's strict server balance policy for Aion

As a result of some vague server messages and a confused player base trying to reserve their characters in Aion's preselect period, NCsoft tossed up an informative preselect server status page. This page lists all European and North American servers and labels them as either 'Temporarily Locked,' 'Elyos/Asmodian Only,' or blank.

Some of the servers are jam-packed, while others have plenty of room to grow (no labels). NCsoft has temporarily locked new character creation on the higher population servers until the lower population servers catch up. To maintain faction balance they are also keeping track of Asmodian and Elyos populations. If one side becomes too dominant, new characters of that faction are disabled until the other side can catch up.

This has led to some frustration from preorder customers who fear they may not be able to roll on a server with their guild mates. Apparently, everything will work out as the lower population servers start filling up, so our fingers are crossed. We've all seen what can happen

Note that all of the server limits have been increased as of last night. So servers that were previously locked for both races are now open again. My wife created 2 quick characters on the server we wanted to reserve names then made the mistake of deleting both of them at the same time to remake them properly. And of course by then she wasn't allowed to roll Asmo on the server due to an imbalance. I just kept trying to select the server until it allowed Asmo again, didn't have to wait that long.

Bah, ended up moving over to Zikel this morning. Apprently some of our FFXI friends were sitting there at 3pm and made chars immediately. But, at least I got to pick a better name for my sistah.

I don't want to even think of what endgame is going to be on those servers that are locked, way too many horrid flashbacks of Zerg vs Zerg bullshit in WAR.

Honestly with how hard it was to group my friends on one server without any lockouts, I wouldn't be surprised of guild's wanting to absolutely keep all their members rolling on a different server instead. I ended up on Siel which is the one that filled up the fastest on the West coast, and so did all of my friends eventually, you just have to keep trying, more and more people are deleting characters and switching because of reasons stated above I am sure, which is probably the only reason my friend was able to actually join us.
