I'm a Security Analyst contractor for the Army.

Basically, I go TDY to the different Army installations around the world to do discovery/engineering/certification efforts to accredit that particular network as "Safe" to be on the global information grid (GIG).

Got my Security+, ITIL, SANM, and working on my CISSP. Test costs $565 (wtf?)

The test is worth it though. My salary went from 65k to the next job with my flashy CISSP next of 96k... now with more experience and some papers written in my continuing education, my salary keeps going up. Most DoD contract jobs now require that people working their network have Security +, Network +, CCNA, and CISSP.

I need to buckle down and finish my actual degree however in network forensics so I can start demanding those 130k + salaries.

My career though is information assurance engineer, not really a "professional" but I'd consider myself a professional.
