Most of the writers for Season 1 got fired so that the creator could bring his wife who has never written for tv and more friends along. I know several of the people that got fired. Not watching this show ever again. I did like the father/daughter relationship in season 1 though.

It was an okay episode. They threw subtlety out the window and tried too hard to make sure that new viewers knew what was going on but otherwise it was good.

IGN: Castle Gets Full Season Order

October 20, 2009 - Congratulations to Nathan Fillion are in order. Castle had already been the first series the beloved Firefly star has had the central role in to get a second season, and now it will be the first to have a full 22-episode season.

Variety reports that Castle has been picked up by ABC for the "back-nine" episodes, on top of the initial thirteen ordered for Season 2. While not a huge hit, the show has been a decent success this season, and is averaging just over 10 million in viewers – which is certainly far better than Firefly or the Fillion-led Drive had. The show has been slowly but surely improving this season, leading to ABC ordering more episodes.
